I've only experienced the pokies once. After a few minutes I was up $1.

I immediately left to gloat in my success.

That would be a good win IF, you had put in less then $160 into poker machines in the first place (minus all winnings) and also IF you never play poker machines for the rest of your life.

I had some relatives from Ireland visit recently and we all headed into the casino one night.. not being much of a gambler I just hovered around the tables and watched as people threw money away. There was even these Japanese guy on the $10 blackjack tables who blew $900 in about 4 minutes.

He changed $300 into chips, bet it all, lost and then repeated 3 times before getting up and leaving.

Anyways I ended up having a go on the pokies and probably put about $15 in and lost it all. I had my dad and my cousin (from OS) with me and they were still playing, both only putting in a few dollars as they aren't gamblers either. My old boy gives me $2 and I ended up winning $120. I split the winnings three ways, bought a round of drinks, etc and then put in another $5 and cleaned up with $80.

That's about the best I've ever done on a pokie machine and I spent all the winnings at the bar where you hand money over and get something in return - definite winnah!

That casino vegas palms I put in $50us and pulled out $350us the first time I played it and about $200us the second time.

The thing with online gambling they give you a welcome bonus so this tips the odds slightly better in your favour.

It's a damn shame they changed the rules so using the double up feature no longer counts towards the wage requirement because that was the closest thing I have ever seen to free money.

I saw the same thing at the Treasury wheel a.k.a Chocolate wheel. The guy kept betting big on treasury and 23-1 but kept losing and lost about a grand.
Also its much easier to remember the wins over losses at the casino so chances are you've lost a lot more than you think.

ive been to the pokies twice and won both times (only small amounts though - spent $1 and got $20~ both times) i find it f***ing boring though

i have played the pokies 6 times all up. have played 6 x $20 = $120, i have won $240 the first time i played so even with out the other wins i have had im still up. all up i have won just under $600 thats collected from the machine and walked away money.

What's with asians and gambling? Anytime u walk into treasury it's like a 60% asian population in there, and they're just slapping wads and wads of cash down.

Not being racist here, just pointing out a fact...

Personally I derive no enjoyment from gambling whatsoever. If I lose i feel like s***, and if I win I feel like I just dodged a bullet and I'm relieved rather than excited and pumped up. It's like standing in the middle of a road with a car coming at u, seeing if u can jump out of the way before it hits u. U either get f***ed or u make it out alive s***ting yourself.
