Can't find the actual music video of this which has the lyrics in subtitles, and Cathy Freeman and s*** in it. But here is the song anyway:

WTF was that about Captain Cook's arrival changing the continent? Aborigines shaped and altered the environment of Australia more than europeans have.

This came out a little while ago.

I know this cause I have the DVD at home with video and making of.

I have that DVD because my girlfriend is one of the Salsa dancers in the video and her teacher (a guy we know) did the choreography.

Having said that, apparently the main guy, a Brisbane taxi driver, could not dance for s*** and it took them twice as long to make.

But still, good on him for trying.

through thousands of years of lighting bushfires.

they did this because the young plants and grass shoots growing back attracted kangaroos, which they then hunted easily.

this therefore encouraged fire-hardened and tough plants that could survive this practice on quite a regular basis, resulting in the tough bush scrub we have today.

that sounds like it could be true, but they couldn't have burnt every part of australia, there have to be some soft spots somewhere.

StreX knows the score. They also wiped out the supermammals, i.e. all the really f***ing huge wombats and roos :(

I read up on some stuff by a guy who reckons there was a carnivorous kangaroo at one stage (i.e. the missing link between roos and thylacine) but the indiginous australians wiped them out :\
