Hi all - I'm looking to get a TV for the new place and know absolutely nothing about TV technology (I've never owned one). My budget is $1.5k. Can anyone recommend some decent brands/models (and outlets I'd be likely to get the best price) that fit within my budget? (Disclaimer - I did search & have read several older TV threads but they seemed to be about Rev Evil's $5k TV or Grosby's $150 TV). |

mate of mine got a 42" plasma from ebay for around that price
you could probably get a reasonable quality plasma, slightly smaller than that for $1500 from goodguys or any mob that does cash deals probably not enough for a largish lcd |

i think myer in the city has a samsung 42" plasma going for 1.8k. It's not in the sale catalogue though... might want confirm that and maybe go to the goodguys with that price and get them to try to beat that. or see if you can get a discount by signing for the coles-myer card (if you don't already have one).
