I'll be there. I'm next to the Paraguayans supporters bay down the end of the field. I think its the cacko end. f***ing mates are bringing their gf's with them so that immediately puts a damper on the night tho. bitchez. Dunno where I'll head after...somewhere not packed.
p.s spotted! at salt&battery. |

Australia scored 2 goals in the last 10 minutes, including one in the back of their own net in the last 2 minutes :/ |

The only thing I don't like about soccor is the scoring system...the numbers roll up ever so slowly.

1 - It's called football
2 - If you want to call it soccer at least spell it properly. 3 - How else do you want them to score a goal? by kicking the net in to the ball? The "slow" scoring system creates for a more climatic and exciting viewing once a goal is scored. 4 - Oh snap. |

Just got back from the game.
That passing was some of Australia's best - we maintained possession for ages in the 2nd half (Paraguay had trouble coming out of their half). The own goal sucked :( Poor bloke had just come on too... At least Kalich finished with a clean sheet & we game them all a huge sendoff (standing ovation for each of the 4 finishing up internationals). |

was a great game from i was, own goal sucked but never mind atleast we actually scored goals.
suckiest thing - reffing, the guy lost total control and should have had penalty in box when cahill was piledriven in the back. it seems we get some hard reffing decisions. Also paragay would always slow the ball with dodgy penalties to help their players get up front to defend, ref should have handed out yellows to keep game fluid - so blatent, just sticking legs out. |

I was 731-73-7, Nose Bleed Section of the North Wing.
Got to see our Goal really well. Great game overall, pitty how it ended. Cahil so should of got a Penalty when he was Body Slammed in the Box about Mid-Second half though. Other then that Ref called a pretty good game aswell. The Forward Right Paraguay player was getting really pissed off at the Line Ref, was pretty funny. One thing I noticed about Suncorp though; Replays (If they even ever f***ing played them) sucked balls. They need to fix that up. last edited by Scooter at 23:23:46 07/Oct/06 |

I don't think stadium replays happen in soccer due to the s*** that would occur if the ref had made a bad call...
I was right in front of where aus scored their own goal at the end. U could hear a pin drop in the stadium when that happened. |

I was in row 8 of 332. Perfect spot to see popa's goal. Lazaridis, neill, bresciano and grella were the stand out players last night for me. Fantastic to see popa score on his finale, but I was pissed off at sections of the crowd booing kalac. The guy has been immense for australia over the years and has always made himself available. Qld vs Sydney today, lets hope that result turns out better :P.

Perfect spot to see popa's goal. Lazaridis, neill, bresciano and grella were the stand out players last night for me.Is Lazaridis #11? I was sitting on Australia's goal line in the first half and he sort of sucked a bit for a while - his control was shocking, he lost the ball heaps of times. Fantastic to see popa score on his finale, but I was pissed off at sections of the crowd booing kalac. The guy has been immense for australia over the years and has always made himself available.Yeh I agree - I was always taught that it's unAustralian to boo for starters, but f*** - give the guy a break, we know everyone loves Schwarzer but this guy is out there wearing the green and gold like every other player. |

I ended up going to the game, scored a ticket for $25 at the last minute so thought why not.
Bit of an anti climax with the donkey's own goal but all around a decent game. Only thing that pisses me off about all Australian sports is the lack of atmosphere. Even with a great turn out you can hear a pin drop sometimes. In other countries people are constantly having a good yell at the players and a good sing song. |

One thing stood out from that on the whole 'booing' thing - Australians as die hard at sport as we are, could learn some good sport manners. We are shockers at bad sports - instead of booing at soft players taking a fall, laugh at them instead.
It probably might tick them (the softie) off even more. Still, we are pretty bad sports and the world is kinda catching on :) |

bresciano also made some beautiful passes.
yeah laza was number 11, maybe he was just a stand out for me because I wasn't expecting him to play as well as he did but I thought he seemed to make some nice runs and put through his trademark crosses from down the lefthand side. |

I went along with a pom, and she absolutely loved it. Saying how enjoyable it was going to a game where the police presence was minimal and everyone was there for a good time and not fired up looking to fight, and the booing and ooohing for Kalac at the start when he was getting passed back to was pretty funny in comparison to the really harsh stick similar players would get over in the EPL. He got his standing ovation at the end like he deserved :)
Still cant get over how well Brett Emerton plays, he is just a full energizer bunny with his running, never gives out the whole time. Neill had his usual great game too shutting out a few counters. |

I only got 2 pictures on my phone because I forgot to take my camera. Pity because I had pretty decent seats, row 6 in aisle 302. Was near the paraguay's coaching box thingy and was funny to watch the coach get fired up.

Geezus the Roos were good sports, and didn't want Paraguay to travel half way around the world and loss so they even the score for them with a home goal, good on em I say, very sportsman like of them... :)
