So I was thinking that with technology always improving, what is to stop future terrorists putting their small liquid bomb into their main luggage, and taking just the remote detonator onboard with them??
I reckon that a lot of planes will drop from the sky in the future. :( |

hahaha! yeah right. dirty towel heads hate the west no matter what they do. If you brush up on your modern history a bit, you'll notice the US has previously been 'friends' with most of its current enemies. So much for "hating the west no matter what they do". Though I guess if it makes you feel more special to demonise the "dirty towel heads", then be my guest, I won't stop you. |

America sure as hell aren't going anywhere. . . They are still building their massive bases in Iraq, in preparation to invade Iran.

blackwatch plaid! Ha ha haaa! loins So I was thinking that with technology always improving, what is to stop future terrorists putting their small liquid bomb into their main luggage, and taking just the remote detonator onboard with them?? Like a prick, terrorist organisations are having second thoughts. I think terrorist groups realise that if they piss off superpowers they're gonna get their home countries/bases shat on. Ask Afghanistan and Lebanon :\ There is no other way for a superpower to react, they can't just ignore it. I reckon Iran/Syria need to stop using their puppet Hizbollah to cause s*** or that s*** is gonna fly back in their face. (But that's just one little bear's opinion :P) edit: I agree with Israel's response but I'm not for (or against) US's Iraq occupation last edited by Matt at 19:26:11 14/Aug/06 |

It's an oldie but a goodie: One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.
To many people, not only in the Mid-East, America is the terrorist. Our minds are filled with so much crap that I honestly don't know what to think. I have watched enough recent 'conspiracy theory' movies/doco's to really make me ponder. . . |

maxe, so you must really hate America! America is a big country with a lot of people in it. Hating an entire country for the actions of its government is a retarded idea, especially considering most of that s*** (arms deals, sanctions) is done without public knowledge or approval. Are you saying that the actions of the American government justify 9/11? The actions of the British government justify the London/Bali bombings? Do you check the news every day hoping to see your terrorist heroes striking back at their oppressors by killing hundreds? |

A recent survey of American citizens showed that 77% of people believe in these crackpot theories.
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/279827_conspiracy02ww.html There is a lot of good evidence, if you take a look. If you believe the American government cares more about human life then it does about it's own personal interests and $$$, you are living in Homer Simpson land. But ignorance is bliss. |

You think that people who have given up regard for their own lives, have, of late, picked up regard for others?!? As for Afghanistan yeah the US sure showed Al'Qaeda, they are close to having a good idea about who to ask where Bin Ladin might be. Al'Qaeda have also done two major operations since the US took control of Afghanistan. |

Thank you for that witty and informative spin on Vinnie Jones' line from Snatch. You think that people who have given up regard for their own lives, have, of late, picked up regard for others?!? I try, I try ;) The pawns have no regard for thier own lives, but the leaders do and they're the ones doing all the brainwashing. If pawns do something stupid like set off 100's of IEDs in the UK, then the leaders are put in serious danger. A superpower must respond with great force to an attack like that, unlike a 'small' singular event. How hard would it be to set off 100's of IEDs in the UK? Think how easy drugs get into the country, why not explosive material? As for Afghanistan, they might not have lost but they've been displaced and I assume life is more difficult for them now than before the invasion? You seem pretty switched on regarding the whole situation so I'd like to hear your thoughts. |

Well I simply see to clear flaws with your case. Firstly Afghanistan Isn't the home of Al'Qaeda so bombing it will and has done exactly zero to prevent their business. Afghanistan on a side note is not really under NATO control. They are stepping up their military presence precisely because they control Kabul and thats about it. Two Lebanon haven't been attacked by a super power and Hezbollah by all accounts are still doing just fine. They are still able to launch rockets at Israel and there seems to be f*** all Israel can do about it.
Talk of terrorist leaders not being in the front line is quite simply idoitic. It's no more cowardly for them to be behind the scenes then it is for bush or howard to be. Finally Getting a liquid bomb on to a plane I agree doesn't strike me as a tough proposition. Just swallow a couple of condoms full of the stuff and vomit it up in the dunnies once your airborn. SpecialK Having gone back and read the conspiracy theories a few times it is hard to find one that uses neutral language. None are written as a report they are all written to try and convince you of something. They play up the irregularties with total disregard for other explainations. Loose change and the like spin utter crap. Voice reconstruction software to fake mobile phonecalls and the bin ladin confession. Yeah sure. |

I totally agree with you that the conspiracy theories are indeed one sided. Doesn't mean the facts brought out hold any less credence.
We can find even more credibility in them when we look at all the lies the American, British and Australian governments told to give them an opportunity to invade Iraq. They will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. There was absolutely no evidence of Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, but these governments chose to ignore their intelligence and fed us full of absolute lies. Dozens of senior CIA agents and advisors have since left the organization and attest to this fact. They were absolutely 100% one sided in their portrayal of Iraq and their weapons capabilities even going to the extent of forging documents supposedly showing Iraq purchasing enriched uranium from Africa. This document was investigated by an American official and when he said it was a fake, the American government instead attacked his credibility. What I am saying here is that at least the Conspiracy theorists donft lie about what information they are bringing forward, unlike the American government. |

My point is simply that one sidedness has a tendency to be pushing an agenda as you clearly outlined in the US justification for war. There is little to no difference between that and someone hell bent on convincing you that the US goverment orchestrated the 911 attacks.

Millions? As i understand, he is being tried in court for a few hundred people he gassed back in the 80's(?). Pornoman, my question to you is: How does my `agenda` become unreasonable simply because I am against something? If I am against something/don't believe what the media wants me to, and I want to express my view, how is it possible to do this and meet your approval? |

Your not just expressing your view. Your trying to convince others of it. If you want to sway people to your opinion you are going to have to do better then cite a secondary document spouting nonsense about some imaginary poll.

Here let me do some work for you.
this is thepoll you were talking about. Note how this is an actual survey with questions and data not some foil hat news service. Also carefully note how its catalogging people opinions. Nobody here or anyone else is going to give a rats ass about 1010 peoples opinions about the nature of the 911 attacks. |

I am not saying people will give a rats ass, but that is the general consensus in America at the moment. The majority of people feel misled and want an investigation carried out.

In fact the only questions that support your case are:
Are you more angry with the government then you used to be? and Does it seem to you that people you know are more angry with the government then they used to be? What the hell kind of question is that? Whats your opinion of what someone elses opinion is? Well f*** drop the phone and hold the presses. 77% of people think that the people they know are more angry then they used to be at the government. What a meaningful statistic that is. |
