GameSpot are reporting that Will Wright's anticipated title Spore might not be out until late next year:

However, Spore creator Will Wright today revealed that the game will almost certainly not make it to market before July 2007. "We're saying the second half of next year [2007] for now," said Wright, leaving the possibility of still more changes.

nuts. It must be a major bitch being in the industry sometimes. Making a game of epic scope requires so many man hours that by the time your game is released your graphics engine may not be anywhere near as impressive as when you first started leaking out footage. All the stuff shown so far looked so far along in the dev cycle too, they must be adding some pretty full on stuff for a whole years more time to be required.

a game like this would have soooo much tweaking and fine tuning to work perfectly or atleast playable as intended. so im glad they are taking the time to get it right.

nothing worse then waiting ages for a game that your keen as for and it turning out to be a bug ridden piece of junk with only half of the promised content.
