I suggest STRONGLY against joining premier touch. We joined for 2 seaons. The 1st season, was just testing the boundaries, seeing how we enjoyed it. The 2nd season was a confirmation season...

If you got a ref, and he was that fat bastard who had to walk between sets, and sat on his lard ass and smoked durries during half time, he would be an absolute nazi c*** to everyone on the field. We were in like FFFEFDDF division. The s***test of s***. Just there for a good time and fun, and the refs would be utter f***heads and send people off for making a mistake more than once? heh.

And thats only IF you had a ref. I recall playing a couple of games without them.

Apparently, their competition is the best in Brisbane if you're hardcore touch players. If you're just there for fun, go throw a tennis ball against a wall for 40 minutes instead.

I play mixed touch at UQ in the uni touch comp. just finishing up the winter wednesday night season, 3 weeks of finals to go. Good fun and the grounds are pretty good.

UQ social comps are always pretty decent, although since the VSU I found the quality dropped shockingly in the general level of organisation. They didn't seem to have less staff or anything so I suspect they were just being tools intentionally to try and highlight what happens without VSU. It's never been cheap to play, either - like $50 a head for the season for a team of 8, I think.

VSU only started this semester, which is what s***s me even more.

i thought $400 for a team is pretty reasonable. We pay about $700 for a team I think (6 a side, 4/5 subs, bit under $70 each for the season)

I pay 645 for a team with premier touch. We play at shaw park, they are good fields. I used to play when the ref's were s***, if you even got one that is, but it is alot better now. Good fun.

I play at Whites Hill on Mondays. We are in Mens Social Div 1 and we're not bad, we are in the final on 7th ^_^

although since the VSU....

Just wait till next year, that's when the s*** will hit the fan. UQsport will start charging itself for hiring it's own grounds which seems to make a lot of sense.

i play in the uq comp on wednesday nights at kenmore though. finals start next week. bring it :) mix social

I have a pair of touch shoes. Bought them the last day of the season and by the time the next season started I couldn't play :(

size 10 or 9, I think.
