Got a bucks night down the coast and we lookng for a place to stay. nothing fancy, only going to be there to sleep/crash in the wee hours. I know theres heaps of places but cant find any gold ole' cheap n nasty

Not sure how much it is as I went there with friends whose company was paying, but the Darcy Arms Motel is enough of a s***hole to be a bargain - might be worth a look-in?

If you are having a really big night then I can only recommend one place, the southport watchhouse.

Actually I take that back, just checked their website and it's totally overpriced...

Ummm Pink Poodle? How long since you have been there?

I stayed in a brand new (october that year) hotel for the 2004 schoolies (Breakfree Wings), and the back of the place had a run down sign that I think read "Pink Poodle Motel"... the place was on a corner.

Heh, yep... literally back to back with Breakfree Wings where I stayed, I swear half our class stayed at Club Surfers because it was the only one left on schoolies.com like 1 month out :)

Funny thing is it still cost them like $400 each for the week.

agreed.  think it ended up being like 50$ for a room and we had like 10 of us in there.  tho apparently its gone up market now :O.

the pink poodle has been renovated and doesnt resemble what it used to be, its a high rise with a nice belgian restaurant downstairs

since its a bucks night why skimp? nothing beats renting an executive sweet penthouse for the night!

I dont know how much youv booked or planned, but for my brothers bucks night we hired a beach house, some topless waitresses and a bucking bull and a minibus. Everyone got taken from a day at the races to the beach house in the minibus, had a blast being served by topless waitresses, trying to break records on the bucking bull and the 30 min lesbian show we paid the waitresses to do :P
