Sony have let us know they've launched an official website for the PlayStation 3:

The website (www.playstation.com.au/ps3) provides console specifications, an overview of some of the launch software and gives brief explanations of the technologies packed inside the PLAYSTATION 3. Visitors to the site are encouraged to register their interest for the opportunity to be sent exclusive updates on the console between now and the 17 November launch date.
Check it out for all your thousand dollar console needs. Hope you like Flash.

SCE ANNOUNCES NEW CONTROLLER FOR PLAYSTATION®3

Equipped with High-Precision, Highly Sensitive Six-Axis Sensing System

Los Angeles, May 8, 2006 – Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) today announced the new controller for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3), which will become available as standard with the system. The new controller can be experienced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) held from May 10 through 12, 2006, in Los Angeles, California.

The controller for PS3 has been created by refining and improving the world’s most popular PlayStation® controller that has shipped more than several hundred million units worldwide, while inheriting its basic concept and design. The controller for PS3 employs breakthrough technology of high-precision, highly sensitive six-axis sensing system that does not require any devices other than the controller itself for seamless interactive operation, thus eliminating additional settings to TVs. With this technology, ways to enjoy PS3 will be further enhanced by accessing PS3 through the network, while retaining the six-axis sensing capability.

Thanks, it was hard to do, because the deep-rooted idea that flash webpages are accessibility and usability unfriendly is actually a flaw in the medium of flash itself and doesn't in fact stem from years of very poor design decisions by flash "designers" worldwide, including most of the site in question. No-one should use flash on the web at all except in the case of the hilarious adventures Weebl and Bob. Pie lol.

I can't figure out if you're being sarcastic or not, because you haven't used caps. I will work under the assumption that you agree with me that the site is ridiculously flash-heavy to the point where it is annoying, because really, that's the only logical assumption one could make!

I won't be buying a PS3 until Final Fantasy comes out. Hopefully it should be a bit more affordable then.

Heh, I won't be buying one until the price tag is a little more modest. I don't need another PC, and I'm totally uninterested in Bluray.

I'm definitely going to check them out when they come out. Low price point, innovative new controller, simple fun games - that's more what I want out of a console. I've never owned a Nintendo device ever but I'm intriged by this one.

Smash Bros is obviously way too kiddy for manly man trog. I picture him sitting with his gameless Wii waiting for something with meaty gibs and a desaturated color pallet to be released so he can finally use it while the rest of us are having fun.

It's very frantically paced so while it's easy to pick up the controller and mash buttons, it's quite hard to track where the hell you are in amongst all the crazy ness

That sounds like a challenge. We should have a Super Smash Tourney or something.
