Seen the vid for Redneck. I find it to be most entertaining http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr_-3-VS2oM chunky dimebag style riffs can't be a bad thing.

(I posted about LoG coming over in the other thread)

I'll be there for sure.

Unfortunately Aus will never see anything like this though:

Yeah, we never get s*** like that, it's just not really feasible with our popultion density. But I reckon this is pretty close and it'll probably be a fair bit cheaper - what's the most expensive show you've seen at the Arena? I'm thinking $70 absolute tops which is a bargain and I'd pay that for either of those three by themselves.

With new albums dropping soon from all of the big four (Slayer, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Metallica), at least one of them has to be touring here within the next 12 months too so it's a good year for metal.

In related news, one of Unearth's new tracks is still kicking my ass. I'd almost go so far to say that it's better than anything of The Oncoming Storm, but let wait until it's burnt in a bit to make that judgement.

Don't forgot Black Dhalia Murder! Definitely a good year. Now I'm just hoping the production of the kse/log/unearth show is half as good as Opeth was.

It's all good! And even then, my most listened to album this year is probably still Stadium Arcadium :P.

Opeth
huh? They've already come out this year? (not complaining if they come out again) :) I queued for 7 hours at the Auckland concert, got to carry in the band's guitars & spent some time backstage as the lighting rig went up...

Okay, so Dave Mustaine's Gigantour just got confirmed for October. Riverstage baby. This is just getting ridiculous now.
MEGADETH, SOULFLY, ARCH ENEMY, CALIBAN, and more to play Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne October 21, 22, and 24!
Enter GIGANTOUR, the fast and furious traveling festival that was hailed last year by Revolver magazine as "the mother of all shred festivals" will kick off its first trip to Australia in October. Check the tour page for details.

Talk about hard to please! The US/Euro tour has Opeth and Lamb of God, but we've have both those this year so can hardly complain. I just think it's a good thing we're being acknowledged at all for an international metal festival tour and I hope it's successful enough to warrant return visits.

Also, riverstage is an ideal venue for it.
