... the Horde recognizes the value of these renegade blood elf paladins. ... and a number of draenei now follow the path of the shaman. Personally, as a horde shadow priest, I'd rather try to take on a paladin over a shammy =(. |

i like it
now the alliance can realise how cheap the paladins are they are easily the most annoying class ever, bubble, heal, bubble, heal, consecrate you can never cap a damn flag, at least shamans can be DPS killed fast |

They prolly did this because they're sick of people whining how unfair pallys are. I don't see what the fuss is with pallys. They're a good support class with their awesome buffs and the fact that they can tank/heal but they're never gonna be as good as a priest or warrior. And anyone who cries saying they're cheap and so on is a s*** player and needs to get some skills.

haha nice one rev
they are cheap. if a shaman rushes a flag, you can focus fire him, he is dead in 5-10 seconds like every other class in general. a paladin rushes the flag, you focus fire him 5-10 sec, he shields, heals, rinse repeat (they have 2 shields dont they?) and consecrates to stop flag caps. Then runs away casting his aura that removes snares. They are killable, but obscenely annoying in a BG situation. 1v1 i dont find them too bad (i have a 60 druid, 59 war, 60 mage - druid and mage in BWL gear). But you have more than 1v1, and they are a real hassle. Healing teammates, and theres no point attacking him. Wish more shamans would purge. Im happy we are getting them, will make life alot more easier if the BC exp BG's contain flag caps. |

I don't whinge about pallies because it's only the tiered 1/2+ protection pallies I can't beat 1v1 (which is fine, considering I'm in first pvp gear and low blues), but what really s***s me about the pally class is in wsg when there is a group of them their sole tactic is get flag, run to base, turtle. I hope to god the alliance gets to play in some s*** turtles, they deserve it.

HAY LET'S STOP TRYING TO BALANCE TWO DIFFERENT CLASSES AND JUST GIVE THEM TO BOTH SIDES SO NO-ONE CAN COMPLAIN :V
I really thought Blizzard were the masters of balance after Warcraft III + Expansion but they're really losing it |

It is pretty stupid, but in terms of balance ... well it's balanced, in a way, because everyone can play them I guess.

They're a good support class with their awesome buffs Their buffs really only come into their own in 40 man raids. Before that they are pretty average really. and the fact that they can tank/heal but they're never gonna be as good as a priest or warrior. Firstly they can’t really tank. Well, they can until maura or you have an awesome team. The main problem with Paladin tanking is that they are mana dependant for their threat. This means they are next to useless on anything but trash runs. Also, they don’t have many ways to get agro off of someone else. The best bet they have is Blessing of Protection, but after those 10/12 seconds that mob is just going to go down and f*** that priest hard. Secondly, Paladins never wanted to be as good as a priest or a warrior. In fact, for most of their lives Paladins heals suck s***, and are only useful in emergencies. You could keep a great 5 man group alive in an instance, if you speced and geared for it; although you’d probably want to be much, much, higher level than everybody else in your group. PvE paladins are one of the most boring classes to play. Soloing is pretty much auto-attack and casting seal of command every 30 seconds. Even with Seal of Command up your DPS is s*** house. In full (t0) blues my DPS ranges from 75-110, depending on my spec (I’ve tried everything). 5 man. Well, up until 50ish Paladins can actually tank, although nobody wants to let you. Most groups won’t consider you able to heal them, so you end up being a buff bot and healing. Generally speaking, unless your primary healer is f***ing awful nobody even realises that you are healing. For s***s and giggles you can judge things. 10-40 man is pretty much exactly the same as 5 man, but nobody will want you to tank. If you like being a second fiddle healer that is really only bought along because you are regular and buff, then paladins are a good. PvP paladins are much more interesting, but still defence centric. If you want to play a combat support healer than Paladins are pretty awesome. The main problem with Paladins is they are boring to play, even outside of the raiding experience. They are the only class you can automate on raids and nobody will ever know. |

This might also solve the complaints about people saying alliance had it easier in PVE? Due to paladin buffs vs shaman buffs etc?

I really don't understand why Blizzard go through with ideas like this. On a PvE aspect it's just going to basically make things easier, as you have a whole more class number of different buffs, but I suppose rationing out how many of each class will be the awkward bit, even then it will still be gay.
PvP wise, god, how boring is it going to be now. Paladin vs Paladin woohoo! |

Their buffs really only come into their own in 40 man raids. Before that they are pretty average really I like having a pally along in 5 man dungeons. I can heal and they can as well plus they hand out the buffs. Best teams I've ever been with always include having a pally along. I've got a 60 pally but I hardly ever play it now because I find it boring. Nearly have my priest up to 60 and that will be my main from now on...until I get bored with it. One thing I loved about my pally was it was a piece of piss to get to 60. So easy to lvl and go solo most of the time. But that's also what I love about my priest. I swear to god priests are the easiest things to play. They might only have cloth armor but they kick some serious ass. It's another class that's basic to solo as well. Soloing is pretty much auto-attack and casting seal of command every 30 seconds. Even with Seal of Command up your DPS is s*** house. In full (t0) blues my DPS ranges from 75-110, depending on my spec (I’ve tried everything) The same can be said about every single class. I have the same standard attack pattern for all my toons. With my priest it's like, holy fire -> mind blast -> shadow pain -> vampiric embrace -> wand. So easy to kill stuff. Sometimes have to change that when the enemy resist a spell. So in summary, WoW rocks! 8-) |

PvP wise, god, how boring is it going to be now. Paladin vs Paladin woohoo! It's not going to boring. And the people whining about a pally using their bubble, do they know that there is a cool down on them? It's not like a priest where you can chuck it up whenever you want. A warrior fighting another warrior would be just as boring too. They both have the exact same attacks. f***ing hell. LOL |

HURRRRR REV

The same can be said about every single class. I have the same standard attack pattern for all my toons. With my priest it's like, holy fire -> mind blast -> shadow pain -> vampiric embrace -> wand. So easy to kill stuff. Sometimes have to change that when the enemy resist a spell. At least you get some interactivity. Your example has a kill rate around 3 times faster than a paladin and a lot more options for the player to consider. I’ve got a 52 Shadow Priest a 51 Warrior and a 49 Warlock … all of them are vastly more entertaining and interactive than my 60 Paladin. So in summary, WoW rocks! Blizzard lost its vision when it caved to general. The only good thing about this solution is that with any luck Blizzard can use this time to make the Shaman and the Paladin unique and fun classes instead of competing, and thus gay, classes. |

an easy move would of been to give the paladin class to undead, and call them death knights. reverse all the spell attributes and there you go. horde paladin. instead of holy damage you now do shadow damage. instead of healing power you have shadow power. same for the 3 tallent trees...
holy -> death protection -> desecration retribution i guess you could leave as i cant think of what would be the other side. |

Good call there DM. Seeing as the Blood Elves have pallies, does this mean they'll be allowing alliance elves to be pallies too? |

Pallies are vital for MC. Buffs, decursing, DI, auras, judgments, raw toughness etc. Adding shammies to an alliance MC run is just going to turn it EZmode. Mana tide totem + BoW + JoW = ZOMG MANA DUMP DEATH. Although I feel this crossover does cheapen the game a bit, I look forward to rolling a Draenei shaman (along with every other nub and his dog) for funsies.

retribution -> Instigation
Seriously though I don't think having a death knight class would be a good idea you only have to look at the pally/DK situation in war3 to see what would happen. |
