clubs suck cos everyone goes to clubs all the time anyway. its no different. and its loud as f*** u cant talk to people, and dark and dingey etc.

first thing u gotta decide is how many people u want to come.

yeah, don't do a club or anywhere you have to pay for drinks, you want somewhere where you can talk and have a good time and not spend $200 each on drinks to enjoy yourself

Why not just have a good old piss up/BBQ at your place with 100 of your closest buddies? Would be a hell of a lot better than heading into town and putting up with all the random d*******s that would be there.

had a party at dicey's at garden city last month. you can hire out the entire top floor for $200. with that $200 however you can put it on a bar tab for you and ur guests or just you or do as we did, $150 on food (platters of everything) and $50 for the bday boy. its a private function so any unwelcome guests r asked to go back downstairs to the pub by your personal bar tender. if you want you can go down stairs and dance n stuff and come back up, its yours until 2am or 3am. great night, would reocmmend to anyone.

I had dinner out at the Sizzling Mongolian over Taringa/Indooroopilly way, followed by some drinks and pool out in the city afterwards. Was a good night.

Depends on how many people you are wanting to invite I guess.

Its mine in a bit over a month, and after talking about being super organised for months, still havent quite gotten there.

What your options are really will depend on what night you want it to be but also the amount of guests youre going to have.

At this stage Im just having close friends and extended family at the parents place in my actual b'day, then a big night out on the town a little later.

Drag it on for all its worth I say.

Also, dont recommend 'The Island', not only bodgy but youre looking at like $66 a head or something - theres just better ways of doing it.

Depends on how mant people you are going to have. My sister had a pretty big party (about 150 people) so she hired a big hall and we set it all up with tables and had a sit down dinner then dancing till about 3am, all in 80's theme. Worked really well because you can all have a good chat over dinner then go nuts on the dance floor after. If you dont have many going dont do this, it will be hard to find a room small enough and after you have dinner everyone will have spoken to everyone heaps and just start standing around.

Another top night was when a friend hired that lounge room thing at the GPO. Private bar and drink specials till 2am, but that is another big room so you'll need a fair few people.

Whatever you do get totally blind and get some funny friends to do the speeches.

Yeah really, the only reason us as Australian's celebrate 21sts is because America do -_-

If you recall you only have to be 18 here to legally be an adult.

Yeah, I have to agree; 18th is the big celebration cos it's when ur officially an adult. Best off to have a party at your place or to hire out a place with catering if you've got a bit of money to throw around...North Quay hotel in the City was really nice and had an awesome view!

But you're still a teenager at 18, and 19. At 20 you're nothing but 21 means you're an adult (my way of thinking anyway).
