Doods

I prefer double taskbar, so I can have quicklaunch, etc, but I also like to see Day, Date and time all displayed, as demonstrated below.
http://www.intuit.net.au/images/albums/userpics/10001/tb1.JPG

I hate all the gay skinned s*** though, but when you "Adjust for best performance" it changes font settings I think and it doesn't show it all, below.

Which field do I need to adjust to make it fit ?

*shrug* I think you may find it appears when you drag the taskbar up another notch, so thats 3 lines. It did for me anyway.

I guess 3 lines isn't what you want either eh?

I guess you could turn off the clock and use samurize taskbar to do an uber one.

EDIT ** updated with custom time
this is part of my taskbar with samurize

just hold your mouse over the clock and it gives you the date. Sure it requires an extra few seconds of work but really is it so bad?

um am i the only one that thinks that jmr is retarded? why does the day and date need to be shown? you should already know what the day/date is.

You do know that hovering the mouse over the time displays the date as a tooltip?

So you know what date it is...every day? Do you use dates a lot at work?

I for one am not really sure on dates - specially in uni holidays - f*** sometimes i dont even know what day it is!

So no i dont think hes retarded and its a good question! :)

Yeah but sometimes it doesnt work for me, like when i run a program that goes to task bar, or when i change my laptops power settings or something.

Double clicking would be just as easy to see the date. Oh and shouldnt you be playing WoW.?

I'm also a fan of the double task bar with time, day and date

jmr - after you've adjusted for performance, tick the bottom option "Use visual styles on windows and buttons". That'll make the date reappear

:)

Then its gotta open the time thing, which can take an extra second or two!

Pretty sure it's just two lines in that first pic

Caffeinebear, as I said above
I hate all the gay skinned s*** though

When you use the skins, its like 2.5 lines, but 3 is just too much because I am on 1280x800, and it starts to impede...

I guess I will just have to put up and shutup with the themes unless someone else has any ideas? I've got heaps of ram, its just a pet annoyance..

Thanks for your help so far though people

It's ONE option, out of nearly 20, and it fixes your whinge. I don't see the problem

It's not a problem, its just what I prefer..

I'm not whinging, I am just saying "wouldn't it be great to have the classic taskbar while showing the clock", but aparrently its not possible, I'm cool with that, but it was worth asking..

Samurize might turn out well

Get yourself a Logitech G15 Keyboard, the LCD screen displays the time, day and date without having to worry about the task bar.

Why cant you plug the Logitech G15 Keyboard into the laptop?
Turn it around, you'll see plug holes for it at the back ;)

Alternatively, you could tick that "visual styles" option I mentioned.
Or apply skins
Or download software

Why are you rejecting everyone's suggestions? Why bother asking for help in the first place?

jmr sucks

3d Wins with Samurize,

Caffeine its a f***ing laptop, if I was going to plug s*** into it, I would just add another display just for a calendar, but I'm not so I wont.

I said in the first post, I dont want the rice windows look, then you come back and say, hey why not use the windows skins, brilliant
