if you dont believe in it then it will be a boring movie as with most movies with this religious nature. the original omen movie was hailed as being extremely scaring and intense, yet when i watched it i found it amusing that people would get scared at something so simple. but then again i dont believe in god or the devil.

they remade the omen? :[ just as groydis sez... the original 76 omen was made to scare mainstream christians & even then it didn't work very well... unless you were scared by small boys, birds, insects or things that go 'bump' in the night. :P it was a watered down horror trying to cash in on the success of the exorcist.

Dont know about the movies, but the actual novel, funnily enough entitled 'The Omen' was one of the best books Ive read.

I'm a believer in the birth of the anti christ and not neccessarily in the way it was told in the movie . Hence you'd think it'd somewhat give me a few chills but no i found myself zoning out until a few cheap BOO !!! scares randomly came up. Oh well can't complain much about free tickets.

I think the best part of the night was bumping into Cerb and his lady at the entrance.

Question, had any of you who didn't like this version seen the original? If so I think the comment "predictable movie" should be stricken from any comments made. Unlike some, alot of remakes stick pretty close to the original story line, thus no surprises.

nope never saw the original

Edit: i went into this movie not having any prior Knowledge of the original and i went in with no more expectations than the Ad on TV "A battel for our very souls", so i expected some horror maybe a bit of action...instead all we got was 3 "Jack in the box" type scares better known as 'Cheap' scares.
Oh and 2 maybe 3 decapitation scenes in the whole movie

Well remakes are usually a double edged sword. Stick to the original too much and it'll be labeled "predicatable" and "boring", but then if you rewrite the script and introduce new plot elements you'll get whinging fans of the original movie bitching about how it should've stuck to the original plot etc etc.

I actually haven't seen the original but i've heard the remake sticks to its predecessor almost shot for shot. So im assuming if you've seen the original than you've seen this. Except obviously for a few decapitation scenes that actually looked really good, and that's probablly all that was remade.

That being said, i still found the movie really bland and uninspired. I think i was just waiting for this lil prick to grow up already and officially become the "Anti Christ MWAHAHAHA" looking all f***ed up when the world comes to an end.......but that just never happened.

The decapitation scene in the original omen was excellent.

Im going to spoil the movie here so if you have not seen any of them dont read past this point. In the remake, at the end the the father doesn't actually stab the son, he gets shot before he does. In the original the father does stab the son, but he doesnt 'kill him' or something becuase he needed to stab him with two knives (this was changed to 7 in the remake).

There are other small differences but the ending is pretty much the same for both movies.

There are 3 sequels to the original movie, i've never seen them but maybe what your after happens in one of those (most likely the 3rd one if any as it has Sam Neil playing Damien). The 4th Omen movie appears to be the equvilant of "The Next Karate Kid".

I fell asleep in xmen 3. I think it was produced for 12 year olds. I gave it 1 and a half asses.

Really? I was sure the father gets shot right as he stabs the son.

^ What... you fool!
Slither was awesome for it's hilarity.
I found it quite the amusing, it could only have been made better by doing our own voice-overs to it.
But it had Nathan Fillion from Serenity so *shrugs*.
