Yeah it's pretty good. I think I like it slightly more than Tool new album, only because it's _easier_ to listen to, Tool is a bit too heavy, need to be in the right kind of mood.

Looks like the Pearl Jam presale tickets open on the 17th May @ noon. Trying to call ticketek for prices but they've been engaged for ages.

Are pre-sale tix only available online?

And how does the whole ticketing system for the general public work? Are each of the physical Ticketek outlets given a specific number of tickets? Wouldnt mind getting some preferential seating =\

Presales are online only and from memory, you can only use a Visa card to buy them these days but you'd want to double check.

Outlets aren't given a certain amount of tickets to sell, each outlet logs into a central database when somebody buys lets say 2 tickets, as soon as the outlet requests 2 tickets for whatever show, ticketek's central system locks those 2 seats as being unavailable for about 10mins i think, that gives the outlets / or user if your doing it online enough time to complete the transaction, if you don't do it in this time period, the request expires and the seats you requested go back into the general pool of available seats... of course you can choose to reject the seats given and request the next 2 available seats. This is a similar way Village Cinemas do their online seat booking system except Village's system is better i rekon. Does that make sense?

I'm just trying to decide what to do, buy online or sit in a line.

After seeing the massive line for the plebs buying U2 tix i thought that there must be preferential seating given to outlets or somethign. I just couldnt figure out why people would wait for two hours instead of logging onto the net and getting a ticket in half an hour (i've heard there are latency issues at these peak times).

Thanks for ya help NailBomb!

2 hrs? hahahaha. maybe it's like that in QLD but in Melbourne if your going to line up to even get into the first show, you want to get there the night before hand, i think i waited about 10hrs last time they came out and probably about the same the for the Yield tour and i still wasn't near first in line :) the plus side to waiting in line though is you get to meet some really cool people. Don't know if it's going to be quite so bad this time around though because of the fact that there are presales available, most of the freaks like myself that'd normally wait that long in line will probably just get them online now anyway.

There is certain sections resevered for the presales and only those sections are available during presales but whatever doesn't sell just goes on sale to general public when the public tickets go on sale. You could always try and preorder and if you don't get seats you like then just go line up, i mean the presales are on a couple days before they go on sale to the public so you've got time.

Scalpers have fully f***ed up concerts.

I bought the new PJ album last week but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet:(

I will try to go see them, but I am so jaded by Ed's voice these days. I'd much rather see them just do an acoustic set or a few smaller concerts.

There is just one thing that confuses me. Why do people wait for 10 hours to be 20th in line (they get tix HALF AN HOUR after they go on sale) whilst people can log on and wait maybe 5 minutes at a computer screen get the tickets instantly.

Here is how you can really help me though NailBomb

I managed to get some tickets early saturday morning through 10C. They always manage to get the best seats in the house so i am set for the first show.

Though now i have to think about the second show. Usually the way it happens is that the 1st show sells out in an hour or two, then they announce a 2nd one. For the riot act tour this arouund 10:30am or so. So again wait in line or in front of a computer?

Well with the first show, there is always the option of the internet or phone but be aware they get absolutely pounded... ive never had much luck trying to get in by either during these periods. Being in line you can see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak :) internet or phone your not garunteed to get through but that all comes down to a matter of personal preference. See waiting in line also depends which outlet you go to depending on how packed it's going to be, the first time i waited in line for 10hrs me and my friend were probably about 20th back but for the Riot act tour we went to a different location and were only 2nd in line.

With the second/third show, there's no garuntee when they will actually put them on sale, just because they opened at 10.30am last time, doesn't mean they will this time. For a second show, it's probably better to stay near a computer/phone. Hell given thats theres so much time between the ticket sales and the acutal shows, they may even announce the second show publicly before it goes on sale and do another whole pre-sale process again, they did this with 'Live' a couple years ago but this whole process of selling second/third shows never seems to be very consistant so you can never really predict how they're going to do it and of course, the people on the ticketek helpdesk seem to be kept in the dark about all this as much as the public are.

On another note... Damn ticket prices are getting expensive, I just found out the tickets for Pearl Jam are going to cost $99.90 for the Austrlian shows, first time i went and saw them they were only about $50, ah well, doesn't look like i'll be going to all there shows this time around.

Trying to book tickets now. They're all crappy. Can I not get anything closer because they're gone or because they're not available during the presale? Is it completely random?

Eclipsor, tickets went on sale at 12pm. All the good presale tickets sold out within half an hour for Brissy. Best ticket i managed to hold onto was on the floor three sections from the front. But thats cause i got in 2 minutes after they started selling. At 2pm you could have still gotten 2 seats beside eachother but it would have been on the granstand or at the back. If i managed to get in on my 56k i think you'll be right on the day. If not just wait till the second show starts sellin!

Anyone else planing on going to the 2nd show?

Hey duders, I was too late for presale. So I have a few questions.

Will there definately be a second concert?

Can you get good normal release or are all the good ones snapped up for pre-sale?

Will there definately be a second concert?

What time do the normal sale tickets go on sale? Are they still available on ticketek?

Tickets go on sale at 9am tommorow.
99.9% there is going to be a second concert.

You will (from what i heard) get better tickets tommorow than the presale

You aren't by any chance the Steele who is friends with Ray Baxter are you?

From what i heard on the pearl jam boards the only seats available in the brisbane presale were more than halfway back on the floor or in the outer rows quite far away from the stage. So there definitely a s***load of good seats still available for the first show. Ten Club and 'friends' of pearl jam/coppel will get the first three to four rows though. But apart from that its all for the taking.

There has always been an extra show in Brisbane. Sales of the new album are much higher than during the No Code and Riot Act tours so i'd say this would also reflect ticket sales. Ten Club hasnt given out presale oppertunities for the second shows so apart from the 'friends' of Pearl Jam/Coppel the front rows and every other seat in the venue is up for the taking.

Good luck to everyone tommorow! Hope you dont get some nosebleed tickets!

Holy Cow!!! I couldnt believe my eyes when i logged into Ticketek at 8:50 to see that tickets for two shows were gonna be available straight away. I managed to log in and put a hold on two tix before it got to 9:02am. I nearly s*** my pants when i saw what i got. Front row right in front of McCready!!! FARK YEAH!
Along with the Ten Club tickets for the Friday show i will have two nights of basicly front row seats. This is heaven!!
