I wanna upgrade so I can get the most outta my X800 Pro card which happens to be AGP.
So do places still sell AGP mobo's and I'll need a CPU to go with it. I've been outta the loop when it comes to this stuff so any help is appreciated. Oh, it must also be AMD as well! 8-) |

X800 probably isn't worth upgrading the rest of your system for, whats your current hardware?

Just keep in mind that your next upgrade after the mobo/CPU will require a new mobo and CPU anyway because all the new graphics cards and motherboards are PCI-Express. You might be better off just waiting till you can afford to upgrade the whole thing. Although getting second hand equipment will be pretty cheap.
As ticman said, what are your current specs? |

Yeah, I was thinking of waiting but if I could get something cheap thats better than what I have now I would rather just grab that.
2800XP is the CPU I currently have. |

You're not going to do much better than that with an AGP board, nothing worth upgrading for, just upgrade the whole thing when you have the dosh.

you could get a Asrock 939Dual mobo, they have agp and pci-e, drop in a 3500+ keep your old agp for time been and get a pci express video card down the track best of both worlds, and these mobo's kick butt the Uli chipset is very good, review on the board Here.

well 2800+ suck then doob
my 2500 stock cooler stock volts etc clocks to 3200+ no dramas whatsoever. weird how a 2800 cant do the same, tho i did get an early stepping of the barton cores which always helps. |

I'm usually against the asrock products, just on personal preference I guess, but Oz has a good point. that's pretty much the only mainboard you'll find that'll still do AGP :/ there may be others, but I haven't seen of any for a while.
