I have configured security through GPO to disable most options. When you attempt to Alt-F4 an open Window, it reports "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions" which is what i want. BUT, i dont want this warning message to come up. All I want is the user to attempt an Alt-F4 and nothing happens. I am happy to have the warning box disabled for any non-allowed tasks the users attempts.

I'm pretty sure disabling warnings would be a bad idea. I mean what if someone tries something and it just doesn't do anything. They won't know if the computer has frozen or whether the s***'s been disabled or what. In the end they'll probably just think it's locked up & hit the reset button all the time.

usually yes, but not in this case. the pc, and many like it, will be used in a real estate environment where it not to be accessible by any user, only remotely via an admin. its just gonna be running a flash through internet explorer. I have already prevented ie from being closed, now i want the error message not to popup.

um, so if it's not accessible by anyone except the admin, why the hell does it need any security policies at all? I mean, if it's locked behind a glass door or something which I suspect, why disable anything? If the admin is stupid enough to mess with it, he shouldn't be an admin and if he breaks it you need to charge him more each time you have to fix it.
Hell, why not just replace the shell with IE? |

can you put a registry file in the startup scripts directory of a domain controller or whatever, have each computer run it on boot, then next time they start up they'll all load IE as their shell? I have no idea what you can and can't put in a startup script.
