Reports coming in of interesting developments out of the GDC regarding the Revolution:
According to a press release sent out during the conference, “Revolution owners will be able to relive their past gaming glories from the Sega Genesis console by playing a "best of" selection from more than 1,000 Genesis titles, as well as games sold for the TurboGrafx console (a system jointly developed by NEC and Hudson). These games join Revolution's access to 20 years of fan-favorite Nintendo games from the NES(R), Super NES(R) and Nintendo(R) 64 eras.” Sounds pretty appealing given how many people have sentimental regard for the older Sega titles. I heard that Xbox 360 is out, and we still don't know what specs the Revolution will have.

I'm excited that the Revolution is going to be doing something different.
I'm annoyed that we haven't seen anything yet. I'm excited that we will be hearing everything pretty much at E3 and actually seeing some GAMES! |

I'm probably going to make a return to console gaming once the 360 pack with the bits you need gets down under 400 bucks or so. Its looking pretty good. The NR will be a ways off yet, but this sort of thing does make me pine for more info on it :p |

And no doubt the release title for the next nintendo will be Mario Brothers 8 or whatever. You can still have Mario 8 as you put it, but new and inventive gameplay - it just lowers the risk because it has easily identifiable characters. However that being said Nintendo does do new things like - Animal Crossing and Pikmin for example. |

I've never played either of those 2 titles (animal crossing, pikmin) but they sound like games that i'd buy for my 4 year old brother.
