just bought a car

want mp3 head unit with 4 new speakers (don't need a subw000fer i don' tthink?)

anyone done this? suggestions? i tried google but it was gay

i've got two 6x9's i've never used, and just the faceplate of an mp3 unit :D
you can have the speakers for like $40 cos i don't need them
well, i could put them in my car but i'm too newb to know how so i just left them in the box.

I will take those 6 x9's for 40 buks once i have reviewed the brand and specs if persay does not want.

they're not 9" round, they're 6" x 9". They'll fit in the door of a gemini easily, so unless your car is smaller than a gemini they should fit. Or you could put them in a parcel shelf.

I had a couple of speakers from supercheap, both lots were utter crap. the little tweeter fell off them. The cone+voice coil actually broke away from the magnet they were just glued together. Other speakers I've had, the coil/cone retaining basket have been spot welded to the magnet so it can't fall off.

It depends on the car though. Some cars have 6x9 speaker holes, others are 6" round, etc etc. Not all cars have 6x9 housing.

Northfield are expensive. And Stez thats why you make the housing accept them. Also sony Xplod are real crap now a days, you're better off buying some cheap pioneer gear.

they'll do the job however sony xplods have ALWAYS been underpar but your not doing competions right so they'll do the trick for a cheapie setup, however dont expect any bass, unfortuntely they sound.. not tiny, but not all there.
either way a cheap $50dollar xplod sub will fix that out for you.
