Well, i went to Greenland in the middle of winter. The week before temps got down to -40, but we where lucky. Lowest it got during the day was about -19.
Was a really cool place. 55,000 people in the whole country. One of the towns we stayed at only had 4000 people. There are no roads between towns so you have to fly by chopper or prop plane! Unfortunatly the northern lights where very dim too. : (

Heres a few of the pics i took... Ill post a link to more if anyones intrested.

strex, whats your email?
opec - yeah, shot at 8mp so let us know if you want some.
herb - day light was good, but still "dark" so it wasnt the easiest to take photos. we got a few good days of sunny skies. sunrise was 8am sunset about 5pm. but the rate of change is crazy. 9mins + extra sunlight per day.

Wow, that place looks amazing!

Don't think I could live there cos I can't stand the cold but would be a nice place to visit.

Does it taste like chicken? Do you now support the Japanese whalers?

the greenlandies have been hunting seals and whales for hundreds of years .. but always leave enough popluation for the survival of the species.

also.. i was a vistor to their country. i chose to go there, so i respect their customs. (sorry if you where joking)

um.. just trying to go off the beaten track for a while. go places where theres no aussies ; )

ive been to canada 3 times too, both coasts and out to calgary. ill prolly do a 12month stint there too.

opec, ill email him through. below is the town kangerlussuaq. the buildings where pre fabricated and brought over by the amricans during the war. the town was a half way point from the states to europe which allowed planes to refuel.
