I watched the two American seasons of this show and thought it was quite good. The first season partly inspired me to trim up and the second helped get me motivated to get as ripped as I am (omg I am so ripped). I f***in hate Australian versions of American shows, but considering they are getting the two hardcore trainers from the American version and pretty much exactly replicating the show, I am hoping it will be a good series. Unhealthy and overweight people should watch to see how easy it is to get your life back on track by giving yourself a chance to live past 40. |

I like they are all saying "omgz I dont wanna be weighed, I never tell anyone my weight". It doesnt take a god damn scientist to see they arent exactly nigerian marathon runners.

What, just because they're not black, they're not Nigerian? You, sir, are a racist!

Why do they have a chubby host? Is it to make the contestants feel better?

Lolz.
Why do they have a chubby host? Is it to make the contestants feel better? At the start of the show she told them all how she had lost 65kg. I think it's important that they don't have a supermodel host, because that would be showing them an image that is realistically unobtainable for most of them - yes they are going to lose a lot of weight on the show but it is unlikely that any of them will ever look thin. Also, it is one of the few shows that emphasises that being healthy helps to be happy in life, rather than having to be good looking to be happy. The show doesn't cut any corners by relying on plastic surgery or lipo, and is one of not many shows that really does show very, very average people. The emotional aspect of the show is quite powerful. There is very little monetary reward for the contestants, again with the emphasis on changing their lives for the better through a healthy lifestyle. Having a relatively average host strengthens these messages. just IMO fyi irl |

The show actually has serious potential to be a negative for people in that sort of situation. "OMG the people on the tv lost 60 kg in 16 weeks... I only lost 10kg... whats the point I give up"

the ppl on the show are excersing for like 5+ hours a day. they are going to lose more in 16 weeks than someone that only excersies for 1 hr a day.
