Twas just reading the latest Empire mag and a few pages in has a short thingy on The Wicker Man being remade with Nicolas Cage as the lead. The original was damn awesome and I can't wait to see how this new version turns out although having Nic Cage playing Edward Woodward's character seems a little weird to me but they're changing his background from being an honest cop with a strong christian background to some burnt out cop with a haunted past. LOL!

But as long as it keeps the pagan stuff and all the weird-ass s*** that was going on in the original then hopefully it'll be a cool re-make.

Anyway, if you haven't seen the original go rent the new DVD version and check it out. You'll also get to see a younger Christopher Lee before his newer roles in LOTR and Star Wars 2 and 3. Plus you can't go wrong with Edward "The Equalizer" Woodward.

I reckon the remake will be s***, I'm not a big fan of cage, only 2 things I've liked him in were Adaptation and Leaving Las Vegas

Yeah the Wicker Man was cool. Dunno bout Nic Cage though, he's never really done it for me. He always seems to be Nicholas "everyman" Cage played a character, rather then wholly realised characters in thier own right.

Red Rock West wasn't bad, and there's a few roles such as Leaving Las Vegas that he did good stuff with, but on the whole I give him the thumbs down.

Having said that, a remake of The Wicker Man would more than likely contain hefty slabs of full frontal female nudity (or F.F.F.N) which can never be sneezed at. Unless the ladies are from Poland, and draped over farm machinery. Then it's a veritable pepper-nosed sneeze-a-thon.
