Hi Guys,

I'm having a proble with the widows domain at work basicly 3 users have extremly slow logons while everyone else is fine and it only started this morning. I am at a loss as to why this would happen? Any ideas?

make sure your dns server points to your local one, and not some internet one... happened to us once.

Domain or Active Directory?

Check out this article which helps you configure user environment logging.

It's an active directory. The odd thing is it only affects three users on the the network on every machine while everyone else is fine. Changing the DNS to a local one had no effect either?

Gah, just finished work after a somewhat annoying day, so I can't be bothered thinking right now, although off the top of my head...

Too much s*** in their profiles?
- Although unlikely since it just started happening.

Group policy settings?
- Unless you haven't changed anything than also unlikely.

New software?
- Could be causing issues with profiles and/or GP.

Corrupted local profiles?
- Needs to keep reverting to the server-side profile.

EDIT: Oh crap, this is a somewhat old thread. So found out what the problem was?

No not really I changed some settings reguarding group memberships of 2 users and that made 2 accounts work. Though one machine was still being slow for all accounts. Today the one of ther servers crashed. the only thing I can think of that changed was that a tape drive was added to that server.
