Topic: Photoshop help - Batch layer styles?

I always fall into the trap of using a lot of text boxes and then need to add the same layer style (usually shadow and stroke or soemthing similar) but then I have to go through all the layers and adjust the settings for each layer one by one. Is there a way to apply the same styles to more than one layer?

In the latest version of Photoshop you can group layers together into "smart groups" then apply styles to the group, I think.

I don't have the latest unfortunately. I am using a legit version of Photoshop 7.0.

The only way you're going to do it with Photoshop 7 is right clicking on a layer, copying the style to the clipboard, and then right clicking on another layer and applying the style from the clipboard. Also, link a whole bunch of layers to apply the same style to the linked group for extra multi layer fun!!!

THanks Scuzz - I serached the help and found it... here it is for those who don't want hte piccies.

Copying and pasting styles is an easy way to apply the same effects to multiple layers.

To copy layer styles between layers:

1. In the Layers palette, select the layer containing the style you want to copy.
2. Choose Layer > Layer Style > Copy Layer Style.
3. Do one of the following:
* To paste into a single layer, select the destination layer in the palette, and choose Layer > Layer Style > Paste Layer Style.
* To paste into multiple layers, link the destination layers. (See Linking layers.) Then choose Layer > Layer Style > Paste Layer Style to Linked.

The pasted layer style will replace the existing layer style on the destination layer or layers.

To copy layer styles between layers by dragging:

Do one of the following:
* In the Layers palette, rag a single layer effect from one layer to another to duplicate the layer effect, or drag the Effects bar from one layer to another to duplicate the layer style.
* Drag one or more layer effects from the Layers palette to the image to apply the resulting layer style to the highest layer in the Layers palette that contains pixels at the drop point.
