i got one its awesome for aiming n stuff, also just so you know they make a high pitched noise sometimes i never noticed it untill i got my ear cleaned so i can hear it sometimes when i put my head near. its kinda like the noise that comes from a tv but nowhere near as loud.

Get an Mx 1000, they are f***en awsome. I bought mine for about $150 a while back, it's an actual laser, invisible to the eye, not an optical :).

Sif buy an optical mouse when you could get a laser, its so hawt when you turn it around and theres no red light coming out.

apparently, they dont use the laser for reading the surface, they use it for illumination, and they still use a camera for reading the surface.

Basically if you want 400 more dpi get the G5 over the MX518. But if your like me & you want the extra 2 buttons (1 thumb, 1 little one in middle) get the MX518 over the G5
If they Logitech make the g5 with the 2 buttons & call it something else, get that :) |

Does the wheel on the 518 have the side shifty buttons?
If it doesnt then the G5 and the 518 are even steven in the button count. last edited by ctd at 00:36:17 31/Oct/05 |

How much are G7's and where can you get them, Tanaka Khan? I've been shopping around for a new mouse and was thinking of asking Santa for one. I was wanting a wireless MX1000, but if the G7 is a decent price I'd be very interested.

I just bought an mx518 the other day, didn't see the point in paying an extra ~30$ for some weight adjustable thing with an extra 400dpi that doesn't really make much of a difference anyway.
But yeah, quite pleased with the mx518, bit of a step up from a generic ms mouse. |

G5 and G7 are gaming versions of the MX1000. And on another topic, i wouldn't recommend a wireless mouse for any FPS. not like you need a WM for anything anyway, i mean c'mon it's only 2 feet from your tower.
Razer make great gaming mice. im looking at them for a replacement soon. www.razerzone.com |

the G5 has huge issues with tracking on certain surfaces (such as the func pad)
