as the title says, from the reviews of it i've been reading they say its "by far the worst movie I have seen in the last few years" from an IESB review. not to mention it being called "somewhere between awful and horrible"

its such a damn shame to see such a goldmine of a movie get f***ed like it has been. im not sure i even wanna see it at the movies tomorrow. this could of been movie to break the game-to-movie-conversion-suck-nuts mould. they took out half of what made doom, doom. such a pity.

advent children i thought was the best game to movie conversion (the only good one) id ever seen. i loved it.

You would have to have played Final Fantasy 7 though to make heads or tails of it, having played it myself I still had to watch it twice just to work out what was going on in some sections like who the fark where the 3 riders, that had me stumped for a bit haha!

I think that comic has it half right. If you simply turn off your brain before going into this movie and don't expect anything other than some badass f***ing s*** up, and not a plot line, you'll be very entertain and have a good time. People really need to learn to expect different things from different movies. It's like if people complained that porn has s*** storylines. You don't watch it for that. I'm planning on seeing it.

I'm considering seeing it, but only at Southbank so its really cheap, and only so I can laugh at it.

Over at the IMDB forums the general vibe for this movie is that it's good. I don't think I'll see it at the movies though, prolly wait for a DVD release.

I watched the Japanese version without subtitles FWAH! I got the gist of it though... Oh yeah Japanese is one of my majors... ^_^

Game to movie transitions do tend to suck, but the cheese factor is often one of the best things about them.

lets just pray that the people in hollywood don't find out there is a game like doom called quake that could be made into a movie. wonder how many ways they could mess that up?

I rather enjoyed the Resident Evil movies and the Tomb Raider movies, but then I love zombies, adventure stories and hot chicks.

Only going to bother with Doom if I can see it for free. They seem to have focussed on making it look like the game (including person perspective behing gun footage) and less on the plot or script.

Still the interview with The Rock about it on the Daily Show was amusing at least.

Haha - I lol'ed when he asked the Rock what the combination to a particular locker was.

Mortal Kombat is still the best game-to-movie ever.
