while you at it you mose well take your computer over to your mates and test each component, theres no point in buying a new MB if your cpu is fried and your mobo is fine.

but then again if you have a spare grand you mose well upgrade the whole damn thing

s939. Don't go sempron 754 because you won't be able to really upgrade in the future.

If you can actually boot into the bios that would indicate to me the cpu and ram are still probably okay...

What exactly do you mean by the BIOS screen? As you need to hit a key to jump into BIOS and you've already said the keyboard doesn't work. Do you mean the post screen where it does the ram count and finds the hdd/optical drives on the IDE/SATA channels.

It does however sound like your mobo is half f***ed.

I guess you have already gone and gotten new stuff, but if you haven't definately get s939.

I just upgraded my system and went with the Asus A8N-SLI mobo and a s939 A64 3000+ CPU and have been quite impressed with that and would definately recommend them. However if you are still using AGP for your video that would pose a slight problemo as the A8N's are all PCI-E for video.
