You won't get cheaper then a student/teacher discount.. that is if you're buying new..
All apple prices are fixed.. Ebay if you want cheap stuff i suppose |

My sister was buying a mini a couple of months ago and when I called up the apple store they told me that they didn't do the student discount on ipods. So yeah I'm not sure if they've gotten rid of it or not. Anyone else tried getting a student discount lately?

Make sure you get some kind of protective case for it, apparently the screens on the nanos are rather easy to crack.

The prices are fixed in retail stores, $299 for 2GB and $359 for 4GB I believe... Educational discount is the only real way to get a better price... |

My friend just got a 4G nano for $299 from the Apple store. He used his student discount...the discount was only like $35 or something though so I dunno how he got it that low :/ I bought the gf a 2GB one on the weekend from Target for $299. |

Yeah, I dont personally see the point of a nano, they seem to be more of a fashion accessory than anything else. Sif pay that much for a 4 gig music player, all my music wouldn't even fit on a 4 gig player =\

Yeah, on 0.01% of them.
a problem with one manufacturing batch, affecting "less than one-tenth of one per cent" of the units shipped in which the screen actually breaks, according to Phil Schiller, Apple's senior VP of worldwide product marketing, who called it "a real but minor issue". Those will be replaced for free under warranty, he said. He wouldn't say how many that covers. If you get one that breaks, you take it back and get a replacement. But of course, seeing as your wife works in a retail electrical store - you should know that. |

Considering how many reports of cracked screens have been floating around the place, and the fact I know a couple of people myself who've had the problem, I'm disinclined to believe that 0.01% figure.
20Gb = more space = better Agreed. And yeah, I haven't had any problems with the hard drive in mine either. Granted I have a good, protective case for it, but I take it too and from uni every day in my bag and its none the worse for wear. |

Yeah, I dont personally see the point of a nano, they seem to be more of a fashion accessory than anything else.Good thing you're not a girl then. They like petite and pretty things. If it looks trendy, they like it. She'll be using it for when she's jogging, etc. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be running around with a hard drive in my pocket....do you ever just pick hard drive and shake it around violently....I know I don't. I figure solid state memory was the go in her case. |
