Yeh already done a search and coundnt find exactly what Im after.

Therefore, can any of you dudes (and Kat) recommend a decent free anti spam proggy for OE?

It doesnt have to be all wizz-bang, sparkes flying out of its arse good, just something simple to cut down on all this s*** I keep getting sent about Rolex watches, dodgey stock deals and the ubiquitous Super-Stiffy Viagra pills.

Thundercats ..Ho?

http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/

edit: not sure if they mean outlook and not outlook express. but it does look like they link to other project and have their own solution for pop3.

Spambayes works in both OE and Outlook. I've been using it for OE for a year or so and its safe to say my inbox would be utterly f***ed without it. Its a very nice piece of software that works really well - it catches anywhere between 100-300 spams for me on a daily basis and works very reliably in getting rid of rubbish emails containing all sorts of useless stuff like viagra, xanax, rolex, googleplacemark, and all the rest.

I've had a handful of false positives, which have been a bit annoying - here are my stats though:

SpamBayes has processed 143995 messages - 95955 (67%) good, 43993 (31%) spam and 4047 (2%) unsure.

3419 messages were manually classified as good (19 were false positives).

4751 messages were manually classified as spam (117 were false negatives).

366 unsure messages were manually identified as good, and 2359 as spam.

I think the 19 false positives is an over-estimate as I certainly don't remember that many, but - not sure. GOFORIT!@#

^You get far too much mail. Almost 100 000 proper emails in about a year is ridiculous!
