I'm after a video card that can have 2 monitors plugged into it. It doesn't have to be an amazing video card... I also need to buy two monitors which I will prolly get second hand. All up I want to spend $200 - $300. Any advice on cards? |

6600GT or X800 - They generally have dual heads and thats all you need.
Oh wait, I'm a dick. last edited by Ecstasy at 02:14:51 16/Oct/05 |

Look at a 9550. You can get them for around $89. Wouldn't use them for gaming but I use one for a dual screen setup and its great.

dp u just want any ol card that has 2 heads?
if so then pretty much even the cheapest have em; http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=6&&bid=2&sid=12653 $79 http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=6&&bid=2&sid=9105 $79 http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=6&&bid=2&sid=9440 $69 theres $45 and $59 dollars cards there as well but they dont specificly mention they have 2 heads, they mention tv-out but have to ring em up to see for sure. otherwise if u want a good card to go with it then yea 6600GT or X600-800 are very nice. tho they range between $180-350. |

my ti4200 has dual head, one is vga one is dvi with a dvi-vga adapter thing. What do you want this for might help people make a choice. Do you want to spend total $300 on 2 monitors + video card or just $300 on the video card?

All up I want to spend less than $300. I'll be using them for recording and editting music. I'll be able to have edit view on one monitor and mixer view on the other, for example.

hmm why not use a pci card with your current agp? or 2x pci vid cards...
not like your doing anything graphically intensive... Unless of course your wanting to use DVI other wise cheapo fx5200 i reckon will suit your needs fine, seen them go for as little as $39 now.. last edited by 0z at 01:55:54 16/Oct/05 |
