I havent seen any threads about this show so I thought i would start one...
http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/09/12/television.marketing.reut/story.earl.jpg Earl’s life has been full of poor choices and mistakes, but after winning a small lottery jackpot he has an epiphany and vows to change his ways. Upon discovering that he is the holder of a winning ticket, Earl is hit by a car and the ticket blows out of his limp hand as he lies unconscious in the street. While recovering in the hospital and watching television, Earl has a karmic epiphany, thanks to Carson Daly, who attributes his success to doing good for others. A light bulb goes off in Earl’s dim head and he sets out to right every wrong he has done starting with a grade school geek. Earl is played by Jason Lee who adds a funny but bogan like touch to it, you might remember him as brodie from mallrats. I wouldnt call this show "really" funny but it is funny and a great watch. It's all about karma Calling rev for a review! You can check out videos and such at this site http://www.nbc.com/My_Name_Is_Earl/ |

I caught episode 3 and a rerun of episode 2 while I was in the states last week. It's alright, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Jason Lee rocks! I've seen the first 3 eps and I'm hooked. This and "Everybody Hates Chris" are the two best new series out in the US atm. I like comedy shows that have a bit of a touching side. The art of family comedies of the 80's and early 90's should be revived.

Yeah, it's not hilarious but it's still a cool show to watch. Also, that Jaime Pressly chicky babe is an absolute glamour, very hot indeed.
Also, ep 5 of Threshold is out if anyone is watching it. |

I'm liking it at the moment. I did think ep 3 kinda died a little in the middle, but picked up again at the end. I'll certainly be watching ep4. Anyone know when it's out?

The best new season show by a country mile this season, comedy or not, is Prison Break. Just have a look at the ratings. Everybody hates Chris is good, but not anywhere near as good as Prison Break, and I'd also say the same thing about My Name is Earl. My top 5 US TV shows at the moment are, 1 - Lost 2 - Prison Break 3 - Alias 4 - Nip Tuck 5 - Threshold --- 6 - Bones 7 - My Name is Earl 8 - Everybody Hates Chris |

My favourite US shows at the moment in no particular order:
- Veronica Mars - Prison Break - Arrested Development - Over There - Threshold - The Office - Curb Your Enthusiasm - Family Guy |

urr, have you been watching anything else? I said NEW. Most of those shows in the ratings are past their first season and not really new. I was expressing my opinion on an internet form... OMFG. Mongie, do you just half read s***? |

The best part about My Name is Earl is the part where they dont go on a mid-season break for the lameass baseball. Stupid FOX.

I'm finding with Threshold its getting gradually worse and worse as time goes on.
Yeah the baseball break does suck, but the viewers over there mustn't think so. |

The s***ty thing with Threshold is that each ep goes nowhere. So far there's been 6 eps and nothing has been revealed except that people are becoming infected in different cities, no where near where it all started. They need to stop chasing down infected people and add something cool to the story to keep things interesting. I'm still gonna watch it because the chick in it is a complete babe and I'm hoping the story is gonna pick up plus all the characters are pretty cool too.
WooT!! |

Wow, I can't believe you guys managed to actually sit through the first episode of threshold. I thought it was utter garbage.
Is the baseball the reason why I can't watch American Dad this week also? |

Nip Tuck has been pretty interesting in season 3, Matt is being a little overly emo, but then again he did have sex with a man.

I'm loving My Name is Earl, Everybody Hates Chris is just failing to grab me, even though I rather like Chris Rock's narration.
How long till new Arrested Development? Stupid baseball. :( |

Yeh, My Name Is Earl is getting fairly good. First couple of episodes of Everybody Hates Chris haven't impressed me much.
Next two (yay) episodes of AD are scheduled for November 7. Also interesting is that epguides shows that a whole bunch of My Name Is Earl will be aired on the same date (eps 8 through 14 on the 1st of January next year)... that to me says "low ratings/cancelled". Or just some sort of bizarre New Year's Day Earl-fest |

It wouldn't surprise me if it's getting low ratings. It's not exactly an exciting show although I've been following it each week. The stories are lame and the characters aren't that great either. Although it would be an honour to go down on Jaime Pressly. She's a complete honey bunny.

Yeh, it's definitely pretty slow.
Sif Jaime Pressly! I have no idea what she looks like in real life, but in everything I've seen her in (MNIE and Not Another Teen Movie are all I can think of off the top of my head) she's been made up to look like a complete tramp/slut - quite successfully. Most repulsive. Even the maid in Earl is far better :P. But speaking of whom, what motivation exactly does her character have for consistently hanging around Earl and Randy? |

*nod* I'll take the latina girl any day of the week.
I thought she was basically using Randy to do her job because he likes her. |
