I've just formatted a laptop and I wanna dump Norton 2005 on it but I can't until it has IE6 on the machine, Norton wont install otherwise. Is there anywhere you can download the full version of the IE6 install and copy it to a cd and then put it on another machine?

Or, is there a way I can plug my Optus net connection into the lappy and get it to update everything that way. I've plugged the cable in and I can't get a net connection and I don't know how to get around this.

Yeah, it's Win2k. Plus this isn't some multimedia gaming rig, it's only gonna be used for uni work and browsing the net. Anyway, I still use 2000 and it kicks some serious ass all over the place. I never have issues with my machine and I run all the latest stuff, so ner!!!!

did you turn the cable modem off for a minute (from the wall).. thats usually the problem for people not getting cable to work switching machines
