Fairfax IT have an article about Optus getting their knuckles rapped by communication watchdog ACCC. Probably of interest to most people:
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission today asked Optus@Home to compensate all customers terminated from the service under the AUP while the service was promoted as unlimited.
Well, as if you'd advertise a non-unlimited service as unlimited. Duh.

Watch for the use of the word 'unlimited' being replaced with 'flat rate' across the AU ISP scene.

What was once the unlimited plan will now be the 'flat rate' plan.

i am on Optus@Home, and download pr0n like its going out of fashion.. I just cant seem to push over the 4.5, and have been there for weeks.

I dont know if this works or not, but i have a sneaking suspicion it does under NT. Boot your machine, log onto the server, then change the domain/workgroup and the machine name, and do the MSlaw reboot tactic. My connection returns intact for about 4 days, until it seems that they require a IP lease re-newal. Then revert back to details, rinse, and repeat :)
