i knew to all wanted to know, My f***ing graphics teacher said i could take my work home (me thinking he marked it) and yet he didnt and failed me. >:( geography, was just because the teacher taught us the wrong s***, and of course i failed english.

What's the Maths A, B, and C again? When I went to school, it was Maths 1, 2, and "Maths in Society" - more affectionately known across the school as "vege maths". :) Is maths C the same as maths 2?

I fux0red one question on one exam in maths 2 (ie maths c) and it dropped me from my VHA to a final mark of a HA. :(

In Math C you get marked in 3 criteria, and your result is that of the LOWEST mark. She got:

So they gave her a HA overall.

I got an A on the qcs, too. That was all waaaay back in '94.

Apparently, the school's performance in the QCS determines the number of OP 1's, 2's, 3's, etc, etc that the school gets. Then each student is ranked depending on their marks and what subject they did. Then the ops are given out from top to bottom.

Don't take my word on it, though - that's only the rumours I heard.

I didn't have lan/online gaming or Playstations to distract me in high school. :)

Don't forget some subjects have a higher weighting than others, which may explain your one. Also I think you have to do well for the entire 4 semesters of your senior years. As for the QCS determining how many OP's your school gets, well that sounds a bit suss to me, as you say, I wouldn't take your word for it.

I hate to be the one to break it to you all but unless your going to uni your school marks don't count for anything.

I got realy f***ed grades at school and left at 15 yrs old and I learnt to operate forks,truck's and cranes doesn't sound like much does it.Last yr I earnt $55K on an average of 3 days work a week.

So you don't have to be a brain surgeon to make good money.Just think if you get a job like mine you can be getting great money while your uni mates are spending their's on an education to get a job that for some will never pay them more than $50K per yr and they'll be busting their arse 5-6 days a week to get it.

So if you got s*** grades don't sweat it.

Ok, got a few things to say here. Yes, the QCS test is used to grade your school against other schools and then you are graded according to your position within your school. Why the f*** else would you be doing a standardised test like that? Your individual mark in the QCS means absolutely nothing to your OP (In a direct fashion atleast).

Therefore, you find the private schools which usually have some sort of entry test or whatever will do better because their kids are on average, smarter. Also, I think you'll find that the environment is a bit more conducive to studying, especially with your parents paying so much damn money to keep you there. There is also the factor that you can't get away with as much s*** as you can at state schools, there is a lot more expected of you.

Case in point, I got a VHA in IPT, and HA's in Eco, English, Maths I (B), Chem and Physics. I managed to get a 3, probably because I was at a private school and the standard was higher. I only ever did what I had to to stay out of trouble, and never really studied, except maybe the night before (or the morning before ;) exams.

Finally, OP's mean absolutely nothing in the real world, even at Uni. Some of the stupidest people I know are Honours graduates, and there are more dumb OP 1's than I care to mention. Take a look at that Crazy Ron guy, he owns a bunch of mobile phone stores and is a millionare at 23, yet he failed it all at high school.

So, the key to success in the real world rarely lies in being a genius (though it helps!), but rather in hard work, which is a pain in the butt :)

Actually I was mainly referring to a moron who couldn't get into the Air Force (matter of fact he didn't get past the initial intelligence test) and got an OP 1 *shakes head*. I mean honestly, there is something wrong with that, isn't there?

and subjects aren't weighted just on past history they are weighted by the intelingence of the ppl doing that subject in ur school

giri, what is wrong with the GU course? To my knowledge QUT is renowned as the best IT degree in Qld, with griffith and UQ fighting it out for the minor placings. Maybe the fact that I have a QUT IT degree has something to do with that opinion though ;)

I think ppl's opinions as to which IT degree is better depends on which uni they have been to. :)

I heard GU's had the best reputation among employer's because of the final year IT project best simulating real-world work.

First, EVERYONE is alot differnet on the net, can you type your complete thoughts and make it look exactly how you feel, or your opinion. Plus most of the time laterly, I have had a couple of drinks, a couple every night helps the CS, (no s***).

But anyway I believe this country, which is getting f***ed by the gooks importing themselves(blow them away), and the coons(abo's) that are getting "20%" [taken from a radio station, that told us what our dollar does].

ok, story time... one island up here, is ONLY allowed to have coons on it, these coons get royalties, and still get the dole.

the royalties goes the the CLAN(nigga group), but the coons get the money anyway.

and the dole gets payed to them, since they "dont" get royalties. I went passed in this boat a friend of mine has. they have nice boats, houses, cars, and they live f***ing rich ($4 million dollars for royalties. for the CLAN).

this is way I had those black f*****s. Drink all day, abuse all night, and get the dole every fortnight...

Giri, I hate to break it to you, but most of the IT degrees I know of are almost all theory, it isn't until the end that they give you some brief overviews of what is current technology. They do this because a lot of the theory doesn't go out of date that often, it's the technologies that do.

Oh yeh, with the wrong group, group work really sucks doesn't it? If you are lucky then you know enough ppl in the course who are good enough to work with.

giri: When I started at uni, I knew no-one in my degree. Now 6 years later, we're all working, and we all still get together regularly for coast trips/bbq's/general piss ups. :)

Granted this is in a course that started with only 40 ppl, so we all became really good friends.

When I dropped the Micro part of the degree, I wasn't in so many classes with my friends (plus by then we'd all started doing our majors, and I was about the only one out of my friends doing Artificial Intelligence...) so I just made more friends. I still see a couple of them, as well.

And that's not some bs that the uni tried to feed me - that's what I have been told from people who have friends working overseas, that their friends are making s***loads, cause they're respected so highly...
