I know it's not the lan's fault but i'm pretty sure all my hard drive problems are virus related. I'm finding my everquest game log txt files and char setup files (small) f***ing everywhere. They are in my windows system dir, in my mp3 dir, f***ing everywhere on all drives. Suggestions for a decent virus scanner? Oh and anyone who leeched anything at QGL and have noticed weird s*** happening with your system, SCAN IT I Used norton antivirus, most updated version and it didn't find s***, so i'm resorting to some other program like TBAV or FPROT |

A great virus scanner is AVP. I once got a pain-in-the-ass boot sector virus and AVP was the only virus scanner that picked it up. That is until the other companies updated :). Yeah, and if you're finding files all over the place, its probably not a virus, chances are your hard disk is failing. Reboot into DOS mode and run a _full_ scandisk on it and see if it finds any bad clusters. Ten bucks your hdd is fuxed :). |

haha, absorb sif you'd run any .exe's that you don't a) install of the legit CD or b) download from a legit ereet site after getting uber mailbombed again by that awesome shockwave virus that is going around (in case you're wondering, it gets sent from people and says something like "I got this really funny shockwave movie", guaranteed to attract the attention of 9/10 cluepon subscribers - so don't open it), it just reinforces the behaviour of "don't open strange .exe's" |
