The Blutsaugher
For players that earn one third of the 36 new medic achievements, they will be given a new syringe gun. Called "The Blutsaugher," this new weapon no longer has the ability to score critical hits against an opponent. Instead it will draw health from enemies each time a syringe hits. Especially useful as a weapon to retreat away from the fight while staying alive.

The Critzcrieg
Once a medic has earned two thirds of the achievements, they will be granted "The Critzcrieg." This new medigun uses its ubercharge not for invulnerability, but to give its recipient 100% chance to fire critical ordinance. Medics and the player they are charging need to be careful though, because as much fun as it is to fire critical rockets as fast as you can, the other team will see what you're up to and try to put a quick stop to your plan.

The Ubersaw
For the determined medic that has earned all 36 of the new achievements, they will find themselves the proud owner of "The Ubersaw," which will take damage done in melee attacks and convert it directly to ubercharge. Four hits with this new weapon will fully charge whatever medigun the medic has equpped.

Sauce

I don't know about you but i'd prefer critical hit chances rather than health steal, but then again I don't play medic that much.

Thats sounds lame...

Ages ago there were rumors it was going to be another healing gun that permanently overboosted peoples health amounts and took twice as long to build ubers or maybe not at all.

That actually sounded awesome as it would add another element to gameplay and I was very interested to see how this would change tactics.

These weapons sounds really stupid to me. The medics are already weak enough as it is, you would barely be able to use the ubersaw... you have to get close enough for melee and 90% of the time you just get explodinated trying to stab people. I fail to see how this will be beneficial really and reflect all the hard work you'd need to put in to get there... unless you got full uber in maybe 2 hits.

TF2 works so well because its simple! Soldier has the rocket launcher, demo the pipe launcher, heavy the minigun etc. Additionally all the classes essentially have a sidearm and a melee weapon.

IMO if they try and add 3 new weapons per class its is going to become way too cluttered and confusing and just turn into fail.

What, you mean they'll take time off trying to kill you, and change their strategy to involve trying to kill you?

I think they mean that the other team will stop trying to kill everyone, and all of them will just try to kill you.

The Meet the Scout video will be coming out this Saturday morning. (on GTTV)

Also 1up believes a new class will be coming up, although I can't find where they heard it from. They'll probably release more info in the podcast (also coming this Saturday morning)

I just hope to god it's not the dropped class the officer.

The more I read these achievements the more stupid it seems... just give everyone the 3 new weapons so we don't have 6 medics per team trying to kill people with bonesaws and syringe guns instead of healing.

Big Pharma: Assist a heavy in killing thirty enemies where neither of you die
Err? Good one Valve :S
Medical Breakthrough: Assist in destroying eight enemy Engineer buildings with a single Ubercharge on a Demoman
This one is going to need multiple stick crits and 4 SG's/4 dispensers within a tight area in a 10 second ubercharge... I've pulled off some bulls*** Dustbowl ubers (especially stage 3) but that's ridiculous.
Trauma Queen: Deploy three Ubercharges in less than five minutes and assist in five kills during that time
What's the point of the 5 kill assits, if you can somehow whip out 3 ubercharges in that time you should get like 30 kills... what sort of idiot is thinking of these?

God I'm raging! I really enjoyed playing medic and being a team player, I got nearly 30 hours now on him... now I have a feeling there's going to be a bunch of douche's ruining the team play dynamic.

Sure, some of those achievements are hard, but they're supposed to be. They're for hardcore medics.

I just can't wait for spy achievements to come out. I want cool spy weapons!

instakill face stabs! disguises where you can walk through enemies!

Pretty sure they have that currently as an unintended feature lulz.

I don't think a good medic should have the time to think about his weapons unless he's dealing with a spy or scout in which case the bone saw can nail them both in around three hits.

They should buff the scout, I think. At least make his bat a little more powerful.

Bingo! Hit the nail directly on the head.

A medic is a selfless class, you're there to heal and help your team ultimately win. I can just see "new" medics switching to bonesaws/syringe guns to try and get a new achievement rather then healing the heavy/solider right next to them.

There's enough medics playing properly at the moment, they didn't need to try and make it more attractive by turning it into some semi-retarded DM style class.
At least make his bat a little more powerful.
90% of my scout kills are bat, I typically give it 2 - 3 scattergun blasts then I proceed to blunten them to death.

Serious clans will just have a "get the medic achievements" grind session and will do it in a day.

The casual gamer will never get close to the end... pretty lame imo.

i'm sure the tournament mode on servers will be updated to either unlock all weapons for players or to restrict players to the original weapons.

Fear the bonesaw medic, people think medics are wimps'n'easy targets then BAM out comes the bonesaw. Killed plenty of soldiers like that.

Also, quit the rage. They haven't taken away the healing of the medic. If you want to heal like you always have, you can.

I think it is great that a game keeps changing, for the good and for the bad. Change keeps it fresh and fun, always learning new things.
