wii is a winner no matter what but id be worried about the modchip.

its been confirmed that SSBB doesn't work with a wiikey, on US systems but that should still ring up alarm bells in your head.

the modchip most likely installed is the wiikey. Super smash brothers has been confirmed to not work with it. But Obes is saying that an update for the wiikey is out which does allow SSBB to work.

Modchips are good for only two things, playing pirated games and different region coded games. But the freeloader is out for the wii, so now you really dont have an excuse to use a modchip for playing US/JAP games. It's seriously only good for pirating games.

greazy is about 2 weeks behind. Free loader has been "patched" in the latest wii bios I believe

On March 21st, Nintendo added a new version of the Wii firmware -- IOS37 -- to the Wii update servers. This version of the firmware has a fixed signature-checking function.

The IOS37 firmware update is only on the US server, not the japanese or the EU server. Not only that, another update is required for the blocking to actually happen. You should really read what you're linking Obes.

I extrapolated that it will come to the other regions soon enough.
