Topic: Wireplay Player Limits

The player limits on the Wireplay servers need to be upped badly. Over 100,000 BPA customers who are only able to play on Wireplay due to the 3gigCAP and the servers, (specifically the insta and ra3 server), are capped to 8 and 16 players respectively. This is utterly ridiculous. Surely BPA/Wireplay have the hardware and bandwidth to host upwards of 64 players!!!
People paying $80 odd dollars a month for a 'premium' service, (which includes Wireplay marketed as part of the enticement), should not have to wait for a 'free spot'. This problem should be non-existant.

wireplay instagib is 8 player, imo thats a little small, but im guessing thats from server resources?

instagib more than 16 player is like teleFrag++;

but yeah, you do have a good point there. :D

as if the Wireplay managers wouldn't LOVE to have some more new resources!!! But yes, you could hardly say that WP has been expanded to keep up with the uptake of Bigpond customers.

Hell, if we have to have capped speed, capped download limits, unreliable mail servers, etc., can't we at least have plenty of game servers?!?

I know i'm dreaming btw.

with that 2 billion profit telstra could aford about easily 30 Q3 servers for the insane amount of gay Hl ones... they have the bandwidth so they are just tight asses who all need a smack in the head.. that might wake the dumb pricks up.

Maybe next time, you should go post this on the Wireplay forums, seeing as QGL has approximately ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Wireplay.

kthxbi

Yer at least the Wireplay servers have changed map cycles and dont have the s*** maps. The Optus DoD servers still use default map cycle. I dont think there is much admining of them. There are a couple of people with rcon, but for actual admins who have physical access to the server, they seem to be non-existant.

Yes.. running wireplay is their job.. but that doesn't make Wireplay = QGL. Say you worked for IBM, and you were an admin of QGL, and people posted IBM tech support questions that you normally answer at work, on the QGL boards. Would that make any sense to you?

Wireplay support staff read the Wireplay forums and address Wireplay issues. They do not read the QGL forums to address Wireplay issues.

nice analogy dick, the fact is that there is a very good chance that they would see what is being said here.

oh and have a look on the front page...dont see them posting about optus servers

IT's a gaming forum u mutants. I can post stuff here about gaming servers-it's a gaming site which happens to have Wireplay Admins as admins. Everyone who reads this crap would use Wireplay at some stage or another.
So, in effect, your posts regarding where this should be are the posts that should not be here-it's irrelevant pointless and not relevant to the thread.

Are u going to tell Trog not to post here about the Wireplay MOHAA servers, as he has done?

Khel: whatever, i posted a similar on wireplay forums and the discussion really wasnt made, nats posted one half-assed answer and that was about it.

It's f***ing lame that we cant even have a threewave ctf server when cs players get 8.

I dont care how many fagets play cs, they dont need 8 servers on the same network.

If wireplay cut down the cs servers to about 2 then at least if a cs player cant get on they can either wait or go play somewhere else.

Whereas with 3wave ctf THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE, give some other games a chance, we dont need 8 servers of the same f***ing mod no matter how popular it is.

How the hell are other games supposed to get any popularity if there is nowhere to f***ing play them.

/endrant.
