Anyone know if you can get sheets (or packets) of double sided SUPER adhesive tape/bonding paper/whatever sticks really well? It'll be used to secure a metal plate to a portable DVD player (for security reasons, long story) so it has to be strong enough so that it would require a lot of force to tear apart. The old metal plates we used came with a 3M product already attached but Bunnings don't seem to stock it.

I know you didn't really ask but couldn't you just glue it?

Yeh that's what we'll do if we have to. This is for the Children's Hospital, and I seem to remember a couple of years ago we tried gluing something to something else but then we couldn't use it because of the smell of the glue - as minimal as it was, it was significat to sick kids:/

We use security kits. A little panel that fastens on the tv and dvd and then a cable we bolt on to the wall ... Not cheap, but it was the only non "pretty permanent" solution we found.

Yeh that's what we're sorta doing, except we use notebook cable locks so we can move the stuff around.

The double sided tape glassiers use is pretty damn strong, we used a big roll of it at work at one stage to hold a bunch of plastic conduits to the bottom of desks, worked quite well.

More of an industrial supply than a home improvement product, came in a 100 metre roll. I'm not sure where to find local distributors, but the product you are probably looking for is similar to 3M Double Sided Foam Tape 3M 4004

Get "wall mounting tape" or "mirror tape" it's basically like the 3m stuff but cheaper and not as user-friendly (you touch it, it latches onto you and you wreck it)

It's expensive. 10 bucks a metre or so.

Though for security? I think if someone really wanted to get it off they could do so. You will probably find the mirror tape is more expensive than the DVD player.

For extra security I would have a couple small bolts that are only accessible if you dismantle the DVD player, that should slow the f***ers down...

Gold Coast 3M supplier we use at work for d/s tapes.

Do you use anything to lock cables into place? or are they free game for anyone to jump behind and mess with them ?

if both sides are metal/very flat you'd be better off using suction, ahuh
you can get super duper suction caps which can then be fastened together using something better than tape
