Hey my sisters Philips laptop (8 months old) has shat itself. It won't boot, post, anything, you turn it on and you get nothing but a power light.

Problem is, she got it from the UK before moving here, and the people she purchased it from in England have offered up to $400 to repair it (whatever it might be). Can any of you absolute huge fagots point me in the direction of an eligible laptop repair place on the south side that will at least take a look at it for cheap etc?

Will need a written quote too if possible.

i went through www.fixmylaptop.com.au for my mums.. they had pretty good service and did an online quote. not really southside though but still pretty much just other side of river.

While i was a techy the usual fix for that symptom was pull the battery out and/or clean the contacts.

huh? really? seriously dude - there aren't many lappies on the market that don't come with at least the ye old crappy 12mnth warranty.. what kind of lappy is it?
