These guys are the biggest champions. If I was there I would fully love to congratulate them, specially if they saved my stuff. Imagine what it would be like to have your house burn down... how f***ing terribly devastating would that be :( For me it would be awful, beyond belief.

A few of my mates live in penrith and have watched houses down the street go up in flames...

the community spirit at the moment is great down there

as soon as the fire got too close to someone's house, the whole street would run down and form bucket-lines etc.

Thats awesome. And I have to say, thats something that is so much more likely to happen in Australia than anywhere else. Our country is so awesome in so many ways.

And the firemen are indeed champs. I did some work experience with the fire brigade last year, and it would really, really suck to be fighting these fires...they're doing an awesome job.

You did experience with the fire service? Wow! That musta been pretty interesting! Genuine fire fighters (I mean, not volunteers, despite the fact the volunteers are awesome too) are extremely highly trained people. Well and truly deserving of great respect from us.
