Anyone else in the Indro region just see a really ultra-bright flash of light followed a few seconds after by a massive f***-off thunder noise? I thought it might've just been lighting but it was a really short, sharp flash followed by a really brief and loud boom.

trog - that's most likely an air break switch breaking load on the Energex network.

I get the same thing occasionally in Macgregor occasionally.

My sister lives in east brisbane and heard a f***off loud bang accompanied by a bright flash and went outside her house and saw that all 10 traffic lights and an intersection had exploded.

The last video was an isolator opening under load (they arent supposed to operate that way). Usually you trip the breakers, then the isolators before work on a circuit.

Circuit breakers can clap loudly when they trip but you wouldnt get a flash.

There may have been a flashover on a HV line caused by high winds or a bird. If it was a high enough voltage there would be a flash and a loud bang.
