looking to buy an xbox 360 anyone know of a good deal going on anywhere?

WoW sight and sound have the arcade pack for 388 instead of the usual 399.
They also have the Pro-Bundle Refurbished for 450~ but yeah its refurbished.
Other than that most of the places do the same price, Pro-Bundle non-refurbished is like 520-550.
I doubt Microsoft will let people sell it for much less than RRP.

Dont get the arcade pack, definitely the pro.

I picked up a pro console for $490 (marked as $535 till I asked the sales guy if he could do any better) from JB's at indro last weekend

BigW have a special on at the moment too, 499 for the pro bundle



Oh and mine was the latest revision of the console, HDMI port etc..

I got a refurbished one from Wow, no complaints. It's still got a year's warranty, comes factory sealed, had even has all of those stickers that you find on new gadgets. Basically, if the box didn't say it was refurbished, you would never know.

Upside is that it's about $100 cheaper (more so in my case, as they were on special), and I figured that if it's refurbished, it's already had whatever was wrong with it fixed.

If buying a new one try to get a new Falcon 65nm one, less chance of getting the Ring of Death down the line. Can find out what sort you have without opening the box, provided you're willing to look like a geek checking box numbers in the store :)

Yeah, there's probably very very few of them, but if you're not after HDMI, then that's not really a problem.

But yeah, as StopShootingMe said, the new ones aren't so prone to the RRoD (and they have HDMI), so if you're fine with spending a little extra for piece of mind, get a new one.
