Ok, because everyone ignored the fifa 08 thread (and why wouldn't ya) im making this thread. Three questions:

Does anyone here play it on PC at all?

Is there an online community in aus for PC players?

Does anyone play it on console? If so, what console and is the online play non laggy and the community setup properly?

When I was in England I had some of my best gaming experiences against mostly english, french and spanish players. The game is dope and thats why 90% of european players play PES and not FIFA, nuff said on that.

And if anyone ignores this thread or starts sledging.. whatever

I haven't played it yet but I watched quite a bit of it at egames on x360. It looks pretty lush, though I don't know if there are any actual material gameplay improvements since the last version I played, which I think was 5. It looks very similar with a few new bells and whistles.

yeah, it's hard to tell unless you play it i guess.. i've been playing it since version 2. 6 was pretty sweet but they've really nailed the ball physics in 08. you can power shots at goal now and they really whip low on a curve instead of going into the grandstand. very realistic and makes for awesome game play - plus new animations and way better player/model interaction.

yeah the lads over here in Ireland swear by PES, they hate FIFA - claim PES is the most 'realistic' of the soccer/football games

a mate at work ONLY bought a PS3 for PES 2008 - WTG!!!

Apparently you can download the poper player strips and player names off the net (PES isn't sanctioned by the FA i.e. Premiere League etc)

I play it on PC with a Logitech wireless controller, plays the same as a console but looks better. I don't want to get a Xbox or PS3 just for PES although if the online play is sweet, I will seriously consider it.

Yeah you can get independent patches that will convert all the proper team kits, league names and update player stats and transfers etc. 08 is still in its infancy but there is a few out at the moment. The latest kit patches for 6 are awesome - just need to wait a bit longer for people to fix everything in 08

PES is one of the ONLY games I'd want to play on a console, because its awesome to kick back on the couch and play there. I pretty much only play coop stylez with my flatmate and wouldn't want to huddle around a PC to do it, I think.

Yeah I lived in a sharehouse with 12 foreigners and we had leagues and cups going etc - Don't think I ever had as much fun with everyone sitting around a massive TV swearing at each other in different languages. Everyone was of a really high standard too so the quality of games we had were incredible. Never has a game kept me going back for more since Quake.

Bare in mind PES is made for playing against another person - playing against the computer is no where even close to being the same.

the online play in pes07 was rock solid, and there seems to be a large community for it too. and pes just rocks the s***.
