Hi all!
I'm the bar manager of Sugo Mi, a new Italian bistro/pizzeria that has opened up on Oxford st, Bulimba. We are trying to raise the bar in quality of food, wine and service along Oxford st. The best pizzas I've ever eaten, the best steaks this side of the river, a really friendly team to work with and a casual but professional management style.

I've been having heaps of fun holding the fort on my own but on Friday/Saturday it gets slightly crazy and some of the finer points of service get missed. Basically, what i need is someone to back me up in the bar Thursday through Sunday nights, which will be around 30 hours plus tips. This will allow me to get out on the floor and sell more wine, take the time to make more cocktails and cashier.

Vital Stats of applicants are Charisma, Enthusiasm, Interest and Work Ethic. This means if you have only polished cutlery/glasses before and want to learn more, I'm more than happy to teach. If you know how to run a bar and just want to take a step back and do what you enjoy in a friendly atmosphere, we've got people like that too!

I'll have to run this by my girlfriend. She's got her Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (or whatever it's called), and she's looking for a job closer to Brisbane (she's currently working on the Gold Coast). Is this going to be a permanent position?

paveway: yes, yes i am. damon, our head chef used to be the sous chef at cha cha char so he knows how to cook a steak. and we have master kobe 9+ marbled wagyu rump. i don't care how you like your steak cooked, trust us and have it done medium. the marbling dissolves into the flesh and the steak melts in your mouth.

as far as the bean goes, rob and tanya bought it in may and refit it to what you see now.

thanks heaps for the responses! but as luck would have it, last night someone applied for the position. he's having his trial shift on thursday night so if anything doesn't work out i'll let you all know.
