Im pretty sure most people are sick of the Labor and Liberal parties, period. I really dont know which party could do a better job if elected but I do know that if I have to listen to Keven07's high school public speaking voice one more time, Ill want to flee the country to some place that never ever puts the Australian PM on TV. So I guess thats everywhere but maybe NZ? :P

hahah. KRuddler is still claiming they don't do negative campaigning. He might not, but the rest of the union driven scum does. Which is why he won't be able to control his party should he get in next weekend.

yer, it was more my issue that the government is using our tax dollars to pay for their ads

like to the tune of nearly a million bux a day

The Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet's annual report yesterday revealed the Government spent $281 million in the past year on advertising - $196.4 million of which went to specific campaign advertising, with the remainder for tenders and recruitment.

The figure equates to a daily spend of about $770,000.

yeah seriously guys what is on tv that makes you want to turn it on and sit through any ads let alone put up with political crap being spammed out loud to your living room? I get enough f***ing spam in the mail let alone having to take in more crap.

I only use my tv for games and movies nowadays..

Spook,

You don't really believe that bulls*** do you? I thought you were smarter than that!

The actual breakdown was published

$19 million on defence force recruiting
$18 million on Telstra 3 offer
$14 million on private health insurance
$13 million on super annuaation changes
$11 million on Violence against women campaign
$9 million on anti smoking campaigns
$6 million on skin cancer

it goes on and on, but no matter who is in government, they always spend money on advertising. They both criticise from opposition, and embrace when in government.

meanwhile Rudd goes all year complaining that the Government doesn't spend enough on Health & Education, then in the last few weeks of the campaign he starts calling himself fiscally responsible and says the Government is spending too much?

What exactly is Rudd's stance on anything?

his stance is whatever the focus groups say.

thats true, but surely the general public hear his contradictions

Week 1 "The government doesn't spend enough on health and education, 3% of GDP is not enough for health"

Then the government announce health policies

Week 2 "The government is spending too much, they are far too robust in their election spending"

(by the way, Rudd would need to pump in an EXTRA $20 billion in ONE year to raise health spending to his proposed 5% of GDP, but people don't realise this, all they hear is 'stop the buck passing' and 'education revolution!' )

Took me a while to make sense of this sentence, because for some reason, I thought you said "pubic hair". I wasn't sure how that was relevant at all.

Political campaigns, almost as annoying as threads about the election with half-rate subliminal voting propaganda.

don't forget raising foreign aid from 3% to 5% of GDP. that is another 15Billion/year spend.

this must be economic conservatism Rudd stylez

because John Howard didn't say something along the lines of "I'm not here to slander computers, I think computers are a wonderful invention, computers bring us lots of happiness" Or something similar. basically, "computers are good because hey make people happy."

I didn't believe it until I heard it

what is going to be interesting is to see the balance between Rudd the campaigner and Rudd the Labor party puppet when/if he gets in.

It is clear that Labor has repainted itself the other right party this election so it will be amusing to see how that holds up once they don't need to convince anyone they are economic conservatives, are business friendly and are not influenced/controlled by the unions.

Julia Gillard, as the leader of the Ferguson Left faction of the Labor party, is there to balance the the politican Rudd is painting himself as while still being more right then Socialist Left Faction of the party.

All of the campaign ads are really annoying. I'm so glad I've already voted and therefore feel justified in ignoring them all.
