WWF (or whatever it's called now) taught us a pretty basic lesson in marketing.. make it entertaining for the mob to watch/gamble on or go home.

for example - Ice Hockey is an awesome game. The amount of skill and fitness required to play the game well is just plain astounding. They like to beat the s*** out of each other occasionally, which is always fun to watch.. compare that to the sport of Roller (or Inline Hockey). It's just as hard to play, costs a s***load to get into it and stay in (travel expenses are a bitch).. but it's strictly a NON-CONTACT sport. Who the f*** wants to see skill (unless it's your kid playing).
