I took my cousin to the Boomtown Showdown show tonight at the Princess Theatre. All throughout Amity's set, there were these f***en tough guys roughing everyone up that looked at them funny in the pit. During their last song, the band stopped playing, and there was a massive group of people over by the back door. Chicks were screaming and the security guards were on the phone to the police / ambos. I think someone got stabbed. Can someone confirm this?

What a f***ing s*** night ><

Hardcore shows are f***ed these days. I mean, since the 80s there's a solid history of aggro and bits of violence but I never remember it being as f***ed up as it is at the moment.

The mix of the older-school hxc types and the twig thin emo kids in girls jeans doesn't go together at all. Add said stupid runty kids fight dancing next to big dudes that dislike being constantly bumped into while they're trying to watch a band they like and you've a recipe for a s*** night.

Hearing about that parkway crap at the arena last month, what the f***? AA gigs suck there now. Was at Frenzal tonight and had to queue to get downstairs when the place was at like half capacity.

So yeah, blame the emos.

Triamks, parkway drive played at the arena last month..the cool hardcore people who were there damaged some of the stage, inside massive fights broke out, female police officer was assaulted..The arena was almost not able to re-open, but somehow it's just survived and is back open for business.

This is why the hardcore scene is kinda dislike by others..

I know man, it's f***ing retarded. The atmosphere last night at the show was f***ed. There were just sooo many angry people looking to start s***. Kinda goes against what it all started for in the first place.

The music is good, but it's the fans that are f***ing the scene up for everyone else. All the tough kids from Byron covered in tatts with their flat brimmed hat and army camo shorts looking to start s*** wherever they go. Still dunno what happened last night though.

There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, and we sat in the Korova Milkbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening. The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence

On the topic of hardcore bands, I got tickets to H.I.M if anyone wants to buy them? None of the tickets are seated next to each other though...

Errr, H.I.M. are neither touring aus, nor are they in anyway a hardcore band. Unless you mean Himsa, but they're not touring either and wouldn't have allocated seating if they were.
