Looking at buying a new tower in the next couple of weeks.
Looking at spending 1700-1800 on it.
Needs to have a decent sound card though. If you can fit in a new keyboard and mouse would be good :D

The keyboard and mouse go outside the tower. Outside.

When will people learn?

Can build a pretty awesome rig for that price nowadays.

Prices are from MSY:
CPU: Q6600 (~$330)
M/B: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R (~$170)
HDD: WD 500GB Sata HDD (~$130)
GPU: 8800GT (~$350)
RAM: 2GB Kingston DDR2 667 (~$66)
DVD: ASUS/Pioneer etc DVD-RW (~$40-50)
PSU: ~600W PSU.. Corsair/Antec/Thermaltake (~$160)
CASE: Antec 900 - this case has great airflow (~$170)
SOUND: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer (~$155)

Total: $1581 - leaves the rest for OS and KB/mouse

A couple of things:
-If you are planning on overclocking a bit, get DDR2 800 ram instead
-I didn't bother putting 4GB of ram since it's pretty much a waste atm, and since the motherboard has both DDR2 and DDR3 support you will easily be able to upgrade to better ram when DDR3 is more affordable.

I just ordered a rig myself similar to that ^

I got the Coolermaster RC690 case though, it's cheap, cools well and has the option of seven case fans. also got the P35-DS3P instead as I'm not interested in DDR3 RAM at the moment.
Oh and yeah I got 800 RAM I'm planning on overclocking Q6600 with 400x7 hopefully I can do this with stock heatsink :S

That and even if you can utilize all 4GB, you are going to have to be doing photo editing or running some serious apps to notice a difference between 2gb and 4gb.

MSY is a very cheap PC store.

Don't be put off by the ugly website, they are worth visiting and very popular!
