I'm traveling to New Zealand with my partner in mid November and was looking for any suggestions. We fly into Christchurch and the plan is to hire a car for the week, drive around, stay at hotels or bed & brekkies and see 'stuff'. I'm keen to go white water rafting at some stage, but the holiday is an open slate as far as I'm concerned.

Ideas?

drive down to milford sound and do the cruise thingo, or head over to franz josef and do the helihike on the glacier

I'm heading to NZ on the 17th of November for my 21st (spending a week there).

We're doing a full day (8 hour) glacier hike somewhere, looks pretty sweet.

Mega bungee jump on day one too ftw, doing rafting too (done lvl 3 + 4 in Australia, think we're doing 4 + 5 in NZ) and general sight seeing.

If you like fishing and just awesome scenery go fishing at Lake Tekapo. The water is crystal clear and its a very isolated area.
